  • Hard News: Spammer until proven innocent,

Thanks for Count 2 - as someone here advised me, just saying "Fuck, fuck, fuck" gets you a person real quick.

But count 1 - maybe it's the way I speak, but I have managed to get no help whatsoever through the voice recognition - closes was:

"Welcome to Telecom. Now, to help me direct you to the right place, tell me what you're calling about."

    "Broadband"

"You want to talk to someone about internet broadband?"

    "Yes"

    "I'm sorry I didn't get that"

    "Yes"

    "I'm sorry I didn't get that"

    "YES!"

"Let me get this clear, you're wanting to talk to someone about internet broadband?"

    "Yes"

    "I'm sorry I didn't get that"

Quite literally, that is the closest I have come in half a dozen calls - don't even get me onto what happens when I want an extension altered on our IP Voice Emerge system - although that's the 126 option.

  • Hard News: Spammer until proven innocent,

In a past life I temped for 2 weeks on Telecom's 123 service. Anytime I had a question in the too hard basket I dumped the call

They've made it simpler for the helpdesk staff now - you can't get past the voice recognition software (voiced it would seem, by Michelle A'Court), it doesn't seem to recognise any words at all.

    The Celts?

They don't burn very well. Too soggy.

We burn heaps better after marinating in whisky.

Surprisingly, however, a closer examination of this green and pleasant land reveals a number of plausible reasons why England (and later, Great Britain) had all the right ingredients to make such an outcome possible.

  • Stories: Memorable Meals,

Heh. I had a flatmate who was a devotee of only cooking things for as long as they needed. Ie, vegetables only need a few minutes stit frying or boiling right?

    Right.

And rice & potatoes are vegetables right?

She liked them crunchy (translation - uncooked) & nothing we could say would convince her otherwise.

Ohmigod, this reminds me of Boston Beans & Bacon - pork belly, a truckload of beans & not much else. You cook it for about 5 days & it is unbelievable!

    Although... you will experience "wind".
