Travelling in style. Seems the helicopter is a visitor from down south. But it's been zipping back and forth all afternoon, so I'm pretty certain its lower-slung passenger is being ferried from somewhere along the high tension power line that runs across the farm opposite, or perhaps the windfarm over the hill.

My wife asked the wee one if she'd like to go back to Beijing. I think you can see her answer...

I was on a sunrise kick last northern summer, and it was lots of fun, but the weather just does not cooperate. Got a mind of its bloody own. Smog, too. But your early morning traffic is pretty awesome with that glowering cloud above and hint at eternity. Good capture.

p.s. and off topic, but European, especially French, media is going on about an eclipse today, yet I've seen nothing in our own papers. Are we on the wrong side of the equator for this one?

Bet they didn’t ha_e the rubber matting then !

No, I certainly don't remember it, but back then I spent a lot more time along the river bank than on the playground. Much more fun, roaming all the way down to the river mouth and back.

Pleasantly surprised to find this as I was out exploring old stomping grounds today.

  • Access: Right to die?, in reply to ,

    That’s harsh.

Why? It's a huge decision to make, and isn't the whole point of the thread emphasising the need to ensure that the people doing the dying actually do really want that?

I don't think parents should be able to ask for euthanasia on behalf of a child. How could a child have enough life experience? Or reasoning ability? I would set the minimum age of consent for euthanasia very high - I'd take the Confucian standard of 30 being when one reaches adulthood as the absolute minimum, but I'm not sure that would be old enough.
