Sunrise this morning, the ducks already had the score on the water as of today –
3 – 1, or -1 depending on how you look at it.

Spring blackbird in my feijoa tree ...

    a wary carer
keeping half an eye on me,
    as she practises nesttopism,
expecting great things for her chicks' careers,
not merely counting them before they're hatched.

    …ever evolving pukekos,
    just like Christchurch, that’s me…
(they’re on my coat as well)

And a splendid coat it is too, long may it remain in this house!

These protoplums against the late afternoon sky yesterday – an attempted capture of the casual connection to that other Chris W’s sky I suggested a few pages back – but a casualty of the difficult light and shade of the tall storey.

Still, to step back a bit, it's a lead to the plumb-lazy idea that this wholly mackerel sky is a bountiful bingo bag of fluffy dumplings fleeing the Big Bang of protoplums.

Reflecting pukeko in more positive light –
pliers of many a hard-working swim across the river,
an image of time’s two-headed arrow?

    pukeko echo

    man's on fire

    The man's got form.
I hear an echo of his previous aspersion cast - nay hurled! - on pukeko.

    Some kind of flower bud

That's on a rewarewa tree, a remarkable raceme of flowers in the making. Well worth following through to opening and beyond if you've found a handy one. Here's a sampler from my tree in early November.

Wide one of the walnut tree and all from my doorstep early this morning, when the sun briefly peeped over the ridge before being swallowed by clouds. Neighbouring developer’s fence makes a silver screen onto which the early sun projects a side-on image of a segment of the tree, here available for any re-interpretations.

    My pleasure!
I look forward to capturing a blurry photo of two such rats, then I could non-gratuitously give my view of the rat race.

I honestly don't give a rats arse about his watching of pron. What I care about was his mind-numbing stupidity to do it on a work credit card which demostrated such a lack of basic common sense that I wouldn't want him anywhere near any kind of responsibility.

    A gratuity for you, Bart.
There, I knew there was some reason for keeping last week's blurry photo of a rat speeding over the horizon with left-over walnut. :-)

Otherwise to say I substantially agree with you, though perhaps there's a good place for Jones in a non-leadership role.
