  • Hard News: Feminist as crazy old man,

We had both our kids with midwives in California - we used a great mixed-practice obgyn that has both midwives and doctors.

However we didn't go the home-birth way, most CA hospitals have "home birth suites" - working with our midwife was easy and while there still is a doctor vs. midwife thing going on there we had no problems - our 'real doctor' from the practice showed up for a little while at some point to bless the proceedings, but mostly stayed away

Biggest problem for us is that both our kids were born in Jan/Feb and US work-based health insurance changes Jan 1 - both times my company changed insurance providers leaving us with doctors/midwives that didn't have the right to practice at the hospitals the new insurance covered - that left us with a much bigger co-pay and an upside financial risk should things go pear-shaped - stupid bloody system

surely one can put a lower bound on the number of gay All Blacks by simply counting the ones with handbags?

From memory the bra fence was declared a traffic hazard .... it wasn't like people were wearing them .... much more of a hazard on the Cardrona road are the summer bunnies .... wheeee! thump .... wheee! thump

(and I guess the hitching ski-bunnies in winter)

several years ago the city put this statue in Dunedin's Octagon as an advert for a rugby game .... it just called out for a small statue of a silhouette of a turd to be placed underneath it and I still regret never having done so

(note to Russell - that google images link seems to break PAS nicely)

so true - I hardly recognise the place these days - they have a supermarket for godsakes .... as a kid we'd go to Lake Hawea, Wanaka was even then too rich for us, the trees in the township hadn't grown up yet, not much shelter, it was windswept with dust when they'd run the lake storage down too far, there were a bunch of more traditional kiwi cribs there then rather than what's there now

Unfortunately, due to licensing restrictions we are unable to offer service in your country at this time. We understand that you are currently in Taiwan (your IP address 96.17.70.176).

Well I am in Taiwan right now - I'll have to try it when I get back home - looks like they have IP based blocking in place though.

yeah I have to look further afield I guess - I do really like the challenge of buying something off the wall just based on the CD cover and making the effort to listen to it long enough to see if it jells I've found so much stuff I'd never have imagined I'd like over the years

I guess I just need to figure out how to do that online

well that statue was created by Speights - it's essentially a 3d advertisement, not really art

This is probably the time to point out that Speights is now a Japanese beer, and all those (gay) guys are just actors working for them .....
