    Oh!

`Catholic' and `guilt' next to each other

I puzzled over that line last night ..... my browser underlined it .... it's 'guilt' not 'quilt' ...

If my lawyer does not have contact from me every 24 hours, sealed envelopes will be despatched to Fox News and other credible news outlets.

ummm ... like Fox would know how to open them ....

Simon, while I agree that we don't know how lucky we are, I do think that you attack corruption at the levels you find it at - I think one reason we tend to not have grand scale corruption is because we root out the small stuff and bitch about that so much - if we just ignored it it would get out of hand

(I'm sure I've told this story here before but it's topical, festive too)

When my (now 18 and just finished high school) son was 4 in a fit of honesty I told him all about Santa - he took this in, and understood that there would still be presents .... a few days later he came back and called me on it - there too was a Santa, he'd seen him at the mall ... at that point I shut up, I figured that if I'd brought him up to believe his own eyes over what adults told him I was probably doing something right

Mind you he hadn't yet met my other santa friends

Why is it you can never find an atheist bus when you need one .... given the sorts of arguments I've seen when I've hung out with hardcore atheists atheist taxis might be a better and more appropriate use of the term

I see that those of us in Dunedin will be missing out .... I wonder if we can take a whip round at the next skeptics-in-the-pub and sponsor and atheist noddy train over the summer ....

Sigh - you have to think about economic reality - if you';re going to fly everyone to Oz all the flights will be returning empty - they're going charge you $198 for one way tickets .... plus someone has to pay for that last flight back to turn out the lights ...

  • Hard News: A bigger breach?,

Yeah, it's the same in Spanish speaking countries, the use of points instead of commas.

got to be careful there - recently a client in the US sent me some hardware to work on, declared it for customs with an extra 0 by mistake "80.000" for $80 - NZ customs tried to hit me up for the GST on over NZ $100,000 ....
