Kid Creole and the Coconuts were interesting back then, for 5 or 10 minutes. Saw them live in a Long Island club.
Saw them in Tokyo in 1991. Fun show.

Yeah, this is the point where I admit to liking R.E.M also, innit? Early stuff of course, but I don’t mind the album before last either.

This and its ilk were early 80s for me
Me too. While all the other stuff was there, we were into a lot of New Zealand music (Newmatics, Chills etc) , The Cure, and British Ska in the early eighties. Along with these guys of course.
Precious is one of my all time favourites.
