Slater was captioned as "right wing blogger" and alternated between relaying what the Nats were saying and owning up to knowing nothing despite Sainsbury's best efforts to make like Whaleboy is plugged into the pulse of guvmint.
Boyle's story fits a lot of deep cultural stereotypes really well. Resonates widely. Easy soft story for news media to push. YouTube traffic driven from commercial radio, print and telly as well as good old word o mouth, viral email, social media, etc. Still a surprise, as Russell noted.

Congratulations, you have proved that Public Address is not the New York Times. Bated breath, etc.
-
Because Paul Henry has really lowered the bar.

Sorry, not Question Time, the Budget debate.
-
Has anyone offered modelling about the Nact alternative without superfund contributions - attrributable difference in private sector growth and consequent tax revenue improvement over the next 20 years?
-
Or changes them between innings.

Ooh, Steven Joyce is talking about our favourite issue right now in Question Time. My summary so far:
Citing the 2050 projection as being the difference between 8% and 11% of total payout. Doesn't dwell on 2030 much. Says by freezing contributions we get "much less debt" now, so interest rates stay down and businesses and people spend our way out.
Much less? Thought most of the difference was in constraining annual increases across all areas of public spending? Oh look, he says the total debt is 50bn without the Super fund.
Challenging Labour to say what they would do instead in face of global economic situation.

Dyan, the terms are framed by either side in pretty similar ways. Pro-choice, etc, etc.
-
Which they are clearly NOT.
I'm not sure either way - have seen assertive statements in either direction but no one explaining themselves further in a way my untrained self can decipher.

Not one isolated event either. To be fair, it is part of a particular movement that is a small subset of anti-abortion protest.
However, the sensitivity upthread seemed to arise at the slightest suggesion that such protest could be associated in any way with deliberate initimidatory violence. It is, just like Catholic church remains tainted by not taking action over many years against its paedophile priests.
