What you are discussing is like the standard chemical process of reflux.

You don't think that Paliament would just be peopled by more Key/Banks types who are so wealthy they don't even bother to open their wageslips?

Or we realize that while electorate contests might be terribly fun for the media, who like nothing better than to reduce politics to a rugby game as to whether the guy from one end of town can out run the guy from the other end, the party vote is really the only thing that counts.

I've been considering self-caramelising Creme Brulee.
What this would involve is mixing an oxidant, such as saltpetre, with the sugar. It would then deflagrate when ignited and turn the topping into caramel in a more spectacular way than the normal use of a kitchen blowlamp.
I'm just a bit concerned about the toxicity of the NaNO3 and the reaction products.

How it should be. I haven't touched a ball when not on horseback since 5th form, but I can ski in a fast but untidy fashion, ride badly and am moderately useful on a boat.
Typical NZ boys seem to play rugby or league until their early twenties while thriving on a diet of cheap beer and KFC. Then they give up the sport but not the diet and wonder why they die of obesity and diabetes.

That's a stupid price. They should have started with at least $100 a month to see who bites. Premier League season tickets (different thing, I know) cost about $5k, so there must a group of people soccer-mad enough to fork out silly dollars.

They could try and stop multiple voting with IP, cookie and browser profile tracking, or use a Captcha which would probably reduce their voting totals down to double figures.
But the "poll" would still be horribly unrepresentative - Stuff did an alternative census which, IIRC (they've deleted the results) showed 35% of NZers earning more than $100k a year and a similarly out of kilter percentage being male.
It's just part of a deliberate policy of convincing us that everyone thinks the along the same lines as Dead White Men.

Strikes me that soccer is something that a small number of people care a lot about and would be prepared to pay $150 a month to watch Chelsea or whoever at 5am in the morning. The rest of the population would, if they want to watch at all, be quite happy spending a couple of hours watching a free-to-air delayed game packed out with ads.
