  • Capture: Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day,

Where does one get "Photo sensitive paper" these days?
I remember it from when I was a kid, I think it was some sort of copier paper from a now defunked photo copier process. We used to do pinhole camera stuff with it at school.

  • Hard News: The Vision Thing, in reply to insider,

Accountants are engineers just as much as a guy designing a physical structure; they just work with a different type of material.

Yes, it's all numbers in the end eh?
"And what are you feeding your kids tonight?"
"I think a plateful of threes and nines might be nutritious"
    As Ben said earlier

They’ve got all sorts of delusions about how what they’re doing is a form of productive capitalist enterprise, when actually it is taking stuff away from others.

The job of an engineer is to make sure things are built strong enough, not cheap enough, that is an accountants job. Like spoiling the ship for a Ha'penth of tar.
Frinstance... "If we make that bit out of brittle plastic not only does it cost less to make but it will need replacing earlier so we sell more."

  • Hard News: A storm in any port, in reply to Mike Graham,

but if the port workers jobs are contracted out, would they be contractors or employees?

Like I said back on Page 3

So, there is a difference between “Who you work for” and “Who pays you” so who looks after your rights? You got it , nobody.

The Authority determined that Ontrack did not terminate McDonald’s employment, rather it ended its commercial arrangement with Allied for his placement.

  • Hard News: The Mega Conspiracy, in reply to Rob Stowell,

it may be that wholesale prices can vary as well,

So why not just price per track/minute, just like any other bland commodity. Discount for bulk even. You could even price it per bit, that way you pay more for quality or you could just wait for the iMusician® random hit generator which picks up on your mood and plays appropriate tunes (warning; may cause emotional feedback loop and turn you into a terminally wretched person, an iAm or iGot)

  • Speaker: Who are the news media?, in reply to Sacha,

It would be a useful test for any new regime to consider specifically how it would deal with people like him

I say bury him up to his neck on a rugby field and wait for kick off.

  • Hard News: The Mega Conspiracy, in reply to Simon Grigg,

Not really. There is a set amount returned from an album sale and the pie doesn't get any bigger by adding more songs.

So why are albums all different prices then?. Is it that they guess at how much they can gouge the fans for and go with that number?.

  • Cracker: On the Weekend: Rotoroa Island,

I don't like weddings, especially if they're my own but I've been to a couple. I consider that Big o' me.

    No divided.

So, the more tracks you put on an album, the less money you get. Hey, I knew these record companies were greedy but that is bizarre.
