My first teacher (in 1970) wasn't called Bundlejoy Cosysweet, but she may as well have been. Sadly I was born in July so I only had her as a teacher for a brief moment. The next year I was taught by Miss Miniskirts-long-legs who stood at the door after bell and whacked each child with a ruler as they came through the door late. I wonder if they taught unrestained violence at T'Coll in those days.

When I worked at the Ministry of Education in the early 90s the story went around that our minister went shopping in London without his wallet and expected his PA to put all his purchases on her credit card. Apparently he was astounded when, eventually, the card was declined as its limit had been reached.

Has anyone linked to The Onion yet? Sometimes in my rough perusal I miss the good stuff.

Winson is either not telling the complete truth or he didn't know his lawyer was getting paid by someone else. (I feel a Tui ad coming on.) Either way he looks like a big eejit and I'm not going to vote for him, ever again! (That would be a stronger threat if I'd ever been gullible enough to vote for him or his party before.)

What amazes me is that anyone would think an ad was real! Sorry, I'm being silly. Everyone knows most advertisements are real situations caught on camera. Especially the elephant with the air freshener.
It always looked like a cheap bollywood musical to me. Does your work do song and dance routines on Friday after work? Nope? Mine doesn't either. sniff. -
I took a shuttle several years ago from a Dunedin suburb to the airport. Fortunately for me Dunedin is a very small airport and I had no checked bags. Ansett agreed, when I rang them from home while waiting for the shuttle to pick me up, that they'd take me if I got to the airport before the actual take-off time. I did, with about 1 minute to spare. That was despite the shuttle driver's best attempt to take me on a scenic tour of the Taieri. I can't believe I still paid!
Next time I needed to get to the airport I called a taxi the night before. I explained that I had a plane to catch and had to be at the aiport at a certain time in the early morning. All was agreed, I believed. On calling the company in the morning to find out why the cab hadn't shown up at the agreed time I was told that simply calling and booking a cab the night before was no guarantee that one would be there. I think if I'd called the taxi company half an hour before I wanted them I'd have had better luck. The driver said the best bet is to get to know a driver and call them personally.
Now we always drive and park or find a friend who is willing to do the honours.
