Must be something to do with the CFC's in the aerosol.

Maybe they could add to the Prius a rotten egg smell, like they do to gas.
That smell occurs naturally - it's caused by the smug cloud that develops around all Prius-type vehicles.

I think it quite a small tent.
Well, I'm of the (subjective) opinion that pretty much everything 'created' by Emin, Hirst, or any of those Hoxton twerps is an enormous heap of steaming, stinking ordure.

this thread veered into such a yawnfest
Yes, it has got rather dahl recently.
Ahahahaha. Gosh I'm funny.
I would have though all this curry talk would have 'spiced' things up for you. Ohhhh, stop it, my sides!

Oh, and we've already agreed on a definition of 'drag racing' - what/who can do the standing quarter-mile fastest? Which is also a consensual definition.
-
Although perhaps the key difference is that the fascists wouldn't allow the debate to take place.
And they’d be wrong to do so? You seem to be saying that it is objectively true that the fascists are wrong
No. Clearly it's a subjective value that Fascism = bad (mmmkay?).
But as a society we did arrive at that subjective value by consensus, by way of vigourous debate and large-scale field-testing in the mid-20th Century.
But he can still tell you which is the best car for drag racing.
At the time he was interested in drag racing, yes. Not sure I'm understanding your point.
And drag racing as a sport is divided into many different classes - different engine sizes, different fuels, factory builds, street builds, pre-date-X, post-date-X, etc.
So the 'best car for drag racing' is also contextually dependent.

ropey Black Sabbath song
There are no ropey Black Sabbath songs. Fact.

Except for the ones where Ronnie James Dio was the singer, of course... -
As ScottY (late of this parish) has pointed out:
Here's a fact that many people seem unable to grasp about the acquittal of the "Waihopai Three":
Jury verdicts do not have any precedent value.
It's quite a simple fact to grasp. Another jury could have just as easily found the trio guilty on all charges. There would be nothing stopping a jury from doing so if an identical case were being decided tomorrow.
In light of that, speculation about the Urewera 18 or Plowshares actions overseas seems a bit pointless.

is making models for movies 'art'?
Ah, but what is art? How can we define it? Are our definitons objective, or subjective? How do we tell what is 'good' art, and what is 'bad' art?
(running, hiding, etc)

whenever I see something described as "A Quality Product" I think "What the fuck is that supposed to mean?".
We have a thread for you....
the ZatAoMM reference was a sly nod to another thread, which got very grumpy about it this week.
Grumpy? Really?
It was a good discussion. I personally wouldn't have said it got particularly bad-tempered.
