  • Field Theory: The Undertaker is Hamlet,

Sport is so much more, sport is the human interaction. Sport is variable, unscripted and always surprising. As such it is profoundly more alive than any mere art.

    ROTFLOL
    Winner takes all* slurp*

Art is an order of magnitude less profound than sport. To classify sport as art is to denigrate sport.

You got that persecution thing going on real well I suggest an Abrahamic religion for you.
    You guys crack me up.
    *gluck*

  • Field Theory: The Undertaker is Hamlet,

Would of gotten back to you sooner but had terrible back pain turns out I have kidney stones. So I wont be doing any art till I get shot of the thing.
Drinking from a tumbler, yes, I needed to heavily fortify my resolve.
But you may call it dutch courage, always wondered why it was called that.
Hey you want to cut into the muso's money you go talk to them.

Any way Flipper hell take Skippy as well, you know what that saying is.
Aquatic mammals or Marsupials either way dont care. Although I've always wanted to get hold of a pair of those stunt paws for a work.

And now this wrestling thing, I know discernment in the art world is sometimes a minefield, but I thought it is pretty obvious that 10th rate theatrics and a fan base in the US heartland would pretty much make it obvious that this is not even borderline. And the pomp and circumstance around wrestlers is more reminiscent of descriptions of the Second Coming.

HEY! now there's an idea why not hook up with a religion, shit any one would do that would solve the cash flow problems now that artist are getting the sports money, religions are rolling in it tho' they are notorious for pleading poverty. But once those holy rollers got a glimpse of all that buff flesh they will be all aquiver and youse artistes will be able to just about do anything you want.

    Sorry am I being facetious.

  • Field Theory: The Undertaker is Hamlet,

    *eyes dart around the room*
thinks......am I in the wrong place
*takes a long pull on a tumbler of vodka martini*

Sure if you sports guys want the now debased form of communal fun and exercise to now be considered art, hey go ahead.

But, how about, if you want sportists to now be considered artists, they apply for arts grants and hand any money they get from, ya know those sponsor types, I think they are human? (not sure tho') to those formerly known as artists. And the former artists get all the broadcasting time formerly dedicated to now sportists/artists.

*Takes another long pull on vodka martini, eyes firmly fixed on exit and waits for the anticipated OTT artistic reaction *

  • Random Play: The Pope, the Veitch, his…,

This was their time in the sun again, and they seemed to be out in force too.

*sigh* And when the issues around morality come up some are just a little to willing to think the religious should be consulted.
And there is a rumor the pope does have a boyfriend.

Oh I long for the days when to be a celeb it was de riguer to have done copious amounts of drugs, and still be able to get on stage and do a blistering set.
But then the 2006 replay of "Berlin" wouldnt have been as mighty, once you got used to the directors "contributions".

Glad to see you survived sans insurance.

  • Hard News: Truck Off, etc,

Because my unfocused sense of grievance and resentment is worth more than your fancy facts and numbers any day.
It has always been the way.

And now we can understand why, with the advances in neuroscience.

  • Hard News: Big Norms,

Perhaps you should consult the newspapers rather than your own prejudices then

Ah yes my "prejudices", which you must know all about.

Yes it was back in the heady days of Feb 2006 when this period of ecumenical cooperation reached that particular zenith within a couple of weeks of each other, I believe.
Pity this opportunity to put this brand of dangerous nonsense under the spotlight was allowed to pass, assisted by howlings of dont upset the religious.

And Mrs Freer, having a pleasant persona does not make you reasoned or rational.

    Lyndsay Freer HMM.

So she stood in fellowship with her muslim brothers and sisters over the danish cartoons.
Hope she's not expecting the favour to be returned.

  • Hard News: Ready to Fly,

Media7 will not only look at the media, but will include practical explanations as to how different elements of the media work, such as advertising, PR, and media buying.

This is in the vocational guidance section of the show I presume.
Gotta get those yuffs into employment eh, or give the illusion they might get well paid employment.

  • Speaker: Bigger than us,

Well its all over now. From what I can gather everyones taking it pretty hard. Maybe some good will come out of it. The sport one either embraces or rebels against is much like the religion one does the same to, it comes from upbringing. But anyway

That's two bests and a biggest by my count, but whatever

There is a lot of bad things in Australia the Free to air TV sucks Except SBS sometimes, Holdens, John Howard & Co, Alex Bummer, Abbot&Costello. No Russell Brown( the media is awash with right wing arseholes) And Aussie beer except Little Creatures.

And for your info I have two passports, one birth place Auckland.
And much like you, I Guess, I can be reflexive in my posts sometimes. But that the nature of this immediate medium.
Anyway I doubt if anyone will see this as we have all moved on. And I head back to NZ to look after my ailing father.
I look forward to seeing the lush green hills and windswept black sand beaches. But as you say, and I mean it not in a bad way, whatever.

  • Speaker: Quantum Competition,

I'll just put this down to me not knowing what you think as you post.

The sneering anticipated in the post you referred to is that inevitably forthcoming from Stephen Jones and his like.

I like the look of the World cup now, the field looks wide open. I sort of want Argentina to win. If they do maybe it should become the Quadnations Comp tho' thats just looks ugly. Four Nations looks better.
Hey I could pretend to like rugby if it mean cheap travel package deals to Sth America for supporters.
