It's not the engineers I worry about, it's the managers holding the purse strings.
I hope this doesn't mean clean and green nookolea powa isn't out of the question, incidentally.

I was hoping environmental protesters would cement and weld themselves to wave generator components to act as human shields in case something goes wrong...
-
That was my third question, reliability.
What happens if one of the large arrays break up?

To chime in with Span's post, yeah... you don't get any protection from being male and ang mo whitey on the 'Net. Hatred and bigotry are colour-blind and gender-neutral.
-
Interesting twisting there, but none of it particularly good. You can actually make your important points without resorting to race and gender-baiting because if you do that, well, it doesn't really move the discussion forward, does it?
Doesn't matter what the context is, sorry.

No, not really, unless you're saying that women's online voice is one of race and gender-baiting and nobody should be allowed to opine against that.
Actually, that is what you're saying.

"I don't really enjoy sand in my underwear"
Put on swimwear when you go to the beach. Please?
Interesting transcript - my immediate questions are... is the 100kW figure correct? That's the output of an average car engine if it's right. Expected a bit more.
Second, these seem like fairly major structures. What's the "resource cost" in terms of energy and material to build wave generators, and to transport and maintain them? Is it worth it, basically?

I don't think anyone's offended as such by simple terms to denote your gender and (perceived) skin colour.
But as Steven and Danyl point out, race and gender-baiting is distasteful. You know, that little thing called context. Sure, you can be childish and pretend otherwise, and probably get away with it too, provided you're not a white boy.
Think about what that means though.

76 is the new 56.

Philip Larkin?
So what exactly are you doing?
