I struggled in the one where it completely poured down after getting too cold.....but seeing the Jesus Lizard at 2 in the afternoon when the downpour started was amazing. Everyone cleared out and I found myself at the front of the stage for the only time in my BDO experiences.......he lost his wedding ring in the mud and someone found it 6 songs later. Superb.

That Hamish Kilgour interview is fantastic. Also I believe the fetus productions gig will be on radio nz too at some stage.

Man, I might be out of touch a bit.....but $60 for a t shirt?? Is that normal?
I did just order two though! And you get a $30 discount for ordering something black.....

Nice words Stella, and thank you for posting so soon, and putting some much needed perspective. I live in the Kilburn area, and was a bit worried it might start there, but my girlfriend was a more immediate concern - Deptford high st unfortunately took a bit of a hit, another normal and poor area.
It's very easy to be emotional about this, and it is frightening, but it's also important when it's possible to gain some rationality away from the media hype. Purely an observation, but it looked to me like it was essentially organised looting, and mostly teenagers and young people - a whole different ball game. It appears on first look to me they were just doing it because they could, not for any cause.
And the consumerist direction is by far the most disappointing, yet in some ways the most illuminating.

Oh Bernard, Bernard......great New Order track Russell, his improvisation is simultaneously cringe inducing, fascinating and car crash like. But great though!
Don't think they were ever the best band at jamming.....

thanks Sacha, I thought I'd done that.....sigh......you helped me last time, I even looked up the last post!

Hard News: Heads up for music, in reply to
simon, absolutely. As a few people here have already posted, now more than ever the notion of an album as a complete piece (of art?) is so important, and that includes the artwork.
I'd like to say I'm a vinyl purist, I started off that way because there weren't any cds, but cds now form the basis of me collections. Plus they're much easier to handle when you're drunk.

thanks for the 3ds russel, looking forward to that cd release......it'd be fantastic if some of the xpressway stuff was resurrected too......we've got a lot of hidden treasures I reckon
