  • Hard News: Of swine and cows,

That's the thing about conspiracy theories, isn't it? There are these vast engines of malice that rule the world (or are hiding the truth about the end of the world in 2012 or destroyed the Twin Towers while telling all the Jews to chuck a sickie etc.) without anyone noticing, then they all went on holiday. Or something.

    Indeed.

One of the popular theories behind the 'deadly' flu vaccine and related poisoning-the-people theories (chemtrails, fluoride, just about any non-organic food, artificial sweeteners), is that it's part of a wider depopulation plan hatched by the NWO back in 1974 (apparently an ideal world population is approximately 250m to 300m, with a ruling elite, and a few worker bods) . See, for example...

Now, really, if this plan was conceived in 1974, surely this the worst implemented, most unsuccessful strategy ever put into place? The world population has grown, what, by over 3bn since then?

But try telling that to a conspiracy theorist.

  • Hard News: Of swine and cows,

In a great year for conspiracy, I think my favourite headline would be: "Charlie Sheen demands Obama meeting on 9/11 cover-up". The Weekly World News would have rejected that one as too far-fetched, but it ran for real in the LA Times.

Uncensored were all over it too. Their article stated: "...when someone with the gravitas of a Charlie Sheen issues a statement, anyone is forced to listen."

    http://uncensored.co.nz/2009/09/10/charlie-sheen-twenty-minutes-with-the-president/

Without any hint of irony, of course.

My favourite conspiracy is chemtrails; and, more specifically, that sylphs (cloud-creatures) are helping humans combat the sinister NWO forces who are laying the chemtrails down.

Side note: I've been banned from MysteriousNZ and outed as a 'disinformation agent' on Uncensored for my efforts at trying to reason with the denizens of those particular sites, so you might want to treat my contributions with some suspicion.

    Surely Carter is 'DC'?

Dimpost rightly pointed out that the whole idea would seem a lot less threatening if we stopped referring to the chemical in question as 'folic acid', and started calling it by its 'other' name - Vitamin B9, instead.

'Cos vitamins are always good for you, right?

<quote>Plus, sports blogging has to be pretty manly, would you say Hadyn?

I suppose, it doesn't really involve a lot of "doing stuff" though (except maybe eating chips)</quote>

    And drinking whisky. Very manly.

  • Field Theory: Black and White Stripes,

Despite being harassed on court by some idiot with a flag, (note how slow the security is in reacting).

    That was f**kin appalling.

You'd think that after the Seles incident, no-one should be able to get close to players in a professional tournament, let alone in the final of a Grand Slam.

French authorities can just be thankful the guy was (presumably) a crazy fan supporting Federer, as opposed to the (very scary) opposite.
