  • Hard News: A big week for medical cannabis,

I'm looking into inhaled solutions again, another barrier for bloom garbage would've been export, if it had any meaningful amount of thc it is federally illegal to cross state boarders anyway. I'm interested in inhaled options for their rapid effect for patients with Trigeminal neuralgia, basically we need "e juice" or vaping juices which are exportable and as close to pharma grade as possible, It's frustrating when bedrocan would be so simple in comparison

  • Hard News: A big week for medical cannabis,

Thanks for the coverage, I must say we are already getting contacted by a few people who have Sativex scripts they cant afford, and people with MS who would qualify but havent bothered due to cost. Regarding the patient on Aceso, he was having great results with Sativex, but had a low tolerance for THC so the Neurologist wanted to experiment with a CBD only option, it was an epic fail, (we couldve told them that). This will be the first non pharma grade product that actually works......

Nick smith is in the "too much harm I have seen due to cannabis" blah blah blah.. He kinda supports Pharma products, but he argues if Cannabis is so good, why are there not more products?

The Irony is, we can grow for trials in NZ, but once those trials are done, we cant then grow for manufacture and retail of a final product that has successfully completed clinical trials. What a circle jerk! no one is going to put down 8 figures with no guarantee of going "retail" at the end of it...

  • Hard News: Medical cannabis advocacy you…, in reply to Bill Smith,

If you do a search, into the makeup of the Government approved medicine Sativex, you will find that this approval is for a whole Cannabis plant extract. This fact alone proves that the safety of whole Cannabis plant extracts has been established and only leaves to question, healthy growing practices and preparation of Cannabis whole plant, essential oil products. I must add that the extraction of essential oils is a very common practice in a very wide range, of everyday over the counter health supplements.

Thats a good analogy, Essentially Sativex is 2 strains of Has (essential) Oil in a spray can, I wrote about it here. The trick is the law allows growing for research and trials, I feel that we need to get the products made here, and sort out the trials when we have something to trial, and perhaps the Govt could stump up some trial costs. In the meantime said products could still be used with ministerial approval...

Surprisingly methadone is great for chronic pain, no tolerance increaseS, long half life etc mean it's the best one when facing years of pain, however the side effects aren't instant, and creep in over time, my wife is trying to finish her pre injury study and the opioids and Benzos have taken there toll :(

  • Hard News: Things that do us good and ill, in reply to Russell Brown,

At one point, more than 90% of all the prescription opioids dispensed by doctors in the US were sold in Florida.

Thats a lot of oxycontin!! I know what averaging 150mgs of Oxy a day looks like for legitimate pain, and combined with Benzo’s, her memory of that year was wiped, I struggle to see how anyone can rationalise 80mg Oxycontin tablets, (thankfully the 160mg tablets were pulled) if they needed that much pain relief, they should be on Methadone, (which is great for chronic neuropathic pain)
