to be fair AIG can't be too happy with the fack that the lettering looks like a Spotlight iron on Job

Oh well, the NZRFU screwed the NPC chasing higher revenues. Seriously who wants to watch rugby seven days a week. I really enjoy seeing a team tired from the game they played 3 days ago (that I didn't watch because it was a Tuesday) getting huimped by an equally unimpressive team.
Then there is the hypocracy of the fans that will eat this shit up with a spoon but begrudge a player like Sonny Billl Williams taking 1 year contracts.
Super rugby has ruined the provincial game and this move with IAG to ruin the brand
Yes the ALL BLACKS are a tradition and a brand that why quite often when you rock up to someone in an AB's jersey overseas they more often than not be a foriegner, and this is awesome.
The jersey is currently the only sports team outfit that you can get away with not feeling too informal at a restaurant.
Dear NZRFU (To quote Jack Nicholson) "all you succeeded in doing today was weaken a country" 's national game

The sad thing is that his core supporters will double down and back him more vehemently.
There is a great piece on the finger pointing of both parties later in show that shows people's willingness to spout the party line blindly.
We need to make we don't stray down this path.

There needs to be social responsibility balanced with personal accountability in terms handling this problem.
Some other easy wins would be
Minimum standard drink pricing (part of this would be a levy that goes towards alcohol counselling)
Split age for the sale
Closing time for off licenses of a reasonable time
Mandatory recycling of glass and cans used for containerising alcohol. (thie would potentially reduced the number of broken bottles in the street)
Advertising standards for Alcohol. There is essentially no band aid solution for this and we need a solution that is fair to the smaller operators and see those who take large profits from the sale of alcohol contributing to fixing some of the problems that they have created.

There is no silver bullet to the problem that has been created across several generations. The six o'clock closing, through to the lowering of the drinking age have contributed to the problem. Add to this ability to create booze out of the biproduct of our primary industry there is going to be an over supply of cheap booze and bad attitudes in dealing with it.
I disagree with Russell that being drunk in public should not be an offense; however I think that there should be some very clear guidelines, and the resulting penalty for offending should be something that benefits those who are caught. i.e. if you can't get yourself home because you are too drunk it would mean that you would be detained and if you found yourself there too many times then some sort of mandatory counselling could be prescribed.

I took my teenage mother niece along to vote. The vibe in central Wellington was awesome enjoy the fact that there is still a sense of ceremony on election day.

I reckon the current Japanese team vs. the 1995 All Blacks. I loved watching the cricket the other day, because of the good nature of the game and it showed that while we may not like Shane Warne you have to respect his sportsmanship and his ability to work a crowd.

I was having a ponder this morning, whether or not some of the wiki leak information is being fed through from the intelligence agencies in these non western governments? A sort of information smokescreen.
So rather than trying invade or destabilize the western governments with serious spying; they are just leaking the truth to rock the boat.
This may seem a little far fetched, but it would fit a with things like the attacks on the Iranian infrastructure computer systems.
Anyhow just a little bit of Monday morning conspiracy theory

This is a weird one, people are getting all upset about Shane Jones' choice of movies.
What about when Ministers "entertain company" in their Hotel rooms that are not their partners. Surely this would be more of a story, sure "blue movies" may not be considered tasteful but there are far more smutty things that are happening.
Does this mean we are going to have another round of muck raking about Minister's private lives?

Suddenly the market will be flooded with talented players and a few teams who may have cap room and a few injuries (coughWarriorscough) could get a 1-year contract bargain.
I am not sure the warriors would want them, they would be like that kid who is forced to go to your primary school because his parents split, sulks a lot and trys to play people vying for their affection off against each other.
Why aren't the players being punished at all, i.e. Billy Slater may be a good player but he took the money, and inglis and smith. why aren't they stood down from international duty. they took dirty money
