At UMO on Saturday there were several hipsters in shorts. I'm reliably informed (hi BG) they best qualify with no socks, ankle socks or calf tattoos. I'm so behind the times.

Cheery picking. Queen City scene, and in 2011. ;-)
If you missed it (which I did) the Town Hall marked 100 years last week, as highlighted here. It's certainly played a big part in my Auckland life, with graduations, many concerts, notably for me Shihad and Kraftwerk in the past few years , and a very special wedding of our dearest friends.
Like the Ferry Building, it does have an iconic presence, IMhO.
