  • Field Theory: Blue Sky Thinking,

    TTWMNBN?

Personally, I'm going to refer to it as 'The Scottish Thread'.

Which I wish I'd come up with myself, but is being 'borrowed' from another forum I used to frequent.

  • Field Theory: Blue Sky Thinking,

    Oooh, what thread?

I see ye be a stranger round these parts.

That be the thread whose name we dare not speak, for fear that we shall awaken A Great Evil which will destroy us all......

Edit: Lydon, what are you doing? Not the link! Nooooooo!!!!

  • Something Completely Different,

now you see I walk through a hardware store and see things shaped like that and start to dream

Heh. Lucky all those crazy Freudian theories about sexual desire as the primary motivational energy of human life have been discredited, eh?

Otherwise we could have a lot of fun with metaphoric images of rockets thrusting through skies of virgin blue on mighty pillars of fire.

Sometimes a rocket is just a rocket?

    Libraries, boring?

    Oook.

  • Field Theory: Like a punch in the face,

none of that stinging like a (bumble) bee

But... but...that sweet, sweet antibacterial manuka honey!

    I needs it, man!

  • Field Theory: Like a punch in the face,

    I prefer marital arts!

    You're a lover, not a fighter?

Are you really built for speed?

  • Field Theory: Like a punch in the face,

Aikido is unfortunately not particularly cardio intensive - look how fat Steven Seagal got :-)

Just emulating his mate Sid, though.

Brazilian-Jujitsu: I had a go recently and loved it, it seemed like a really safe and effective ground grappling art

Done a bit of that - mostly for getting out of headlocks or similar. Which, for bonus thread cross-pollination points, is usually how I put my neck out.

  • Up Front: Outraged of Sockburn,

Actually I've got a slightly legitimate reason for a greater-than-can-be-usually-mentioned-in-polite-company knowledge of porn - my day-job is blocking spam, and I've had to read an awful lot of it. I've also had to experiment with visual classifiers, which does involve having a 'corpus' of data.

Speaking of which: Hart's Law states that as a Public Address discussion on any of Emma's posts grows longer, the probability of a work firewall blocking it approaches 1.

    Every single bleedin' time.....

  • Field Theory: Like a punch in the face,

You've nothing to apoligise for. I was just offering a counterpoint.

I've been involved in some contact/combat-type sports, and offered up thanks to the god of headguards on more than one occasion.

I assume MMA is your sport?

  • Hard News: Miracles just rate better, okay?,

I think in order to do that you require some sort of 'perfect storm'.

And I heard the voice of The Angel saying 'come and see'. And I looked.

And The Angel broke the first of the four seals, and before me was an Osteopath, and he rode upon a white horse.

And The Angel broke the second seal, and behold! A red horse. And upon him was seated a lawyer, specialising in copyright issues.

And then did The Angel break the third seal, and I beheld Andrew Wakefield, riding upon a black horse.

And The Angel broke the the fourth seal, and I beheld a plae horse, and upon him was seated a chiropractor.

And the aPAScolypse followed with them.
