Hard News: The remarkable rise of…, in reply to
media stories have to be composed of conjecture instead.
Gossip raised to fact, just by the reading of it on a news channel.
The only difference from primitive village gossip is, we now have things called tv & radio news programmes to do the dirty work for us.
Watching the US eat itself is kinda depressing -
simply human nature
Im going to sound elitist now, and say that most of humanity dont know their nature. Thoughts bubble up from somewhere down there triggered by nothing more than a word, a look or something someone said and that's where the inquiry stops. When , where and how it was formed is left unanswered by many. Its as if the patriarchal mind minder turns up when that thinking shit gets too difficult or starts to turn inward too far, and hits the STOP button.
Yuval Harari talks about biometric help in the future figuring out a lot of things to make it easier for the individual to know who they are, like for a start sexual orientation. But the biggest hurdle will be social, cultural mores. And IMO a completely understandable general lack of trust in large organisations doing things "for our benefit"
In the past we formed organisations to help us in that quest to know ourselves and somehow unite us. But they were just imposing their version of life on the many.
It was useless and will be a hinderance -

Speaker: The crisis is all around us,…, in reply to
Mark Richards, Duncan Garner. you think!
Their buffoonery is tripping them up already.
Being white, male and have a few miles on the clock. doesn't mean you have escaped cultural conditioning. It more likely to be deeply entrenched, hidden in plain sight.
And that is what we all have to fight against. Otherwise your just another twit driven by narrow self-interest, and probably corrupted by the idiot doctrine that is libertarianism. -
Later, TVNZ gave Seven Sharp, the successor to Holmes, to an even more negative and cynical celebrity announcer, Mike Hosking. (TV3 followed by giving prominence to a similar announcer, Paul Henry.)
The pasty-faced fools who did this can perhaps be forgiven considering it was the fashion at the time to give fools with opinions, they weren't shy about shouting from a bully pulpit, high profile positions in broadcasting.
They also happened to be of a paler complexion. If that had anything to do with their decision one can only speculate.
Lets hope that is behind us now. Although I doubt if Hosking will ever shut up. -
watching the hidden camera footage the CA people expose themselves as a variety of human who will put on a false facade, 'pillars of the establishment' type thing.
But whose moral compass will always align with what is more profitable for them.
Im getting tired of seeing the same behaviour over and over again. And as for China and its social credit. Its crowd control the easy way, for those in power. Entirely predictable and completely sinister.

Hard News: Bikelash, paralysis – and progress, in reply to
it’s wrong to try and slow down traffic.
Slogan Huh!
We should slow the whole pace of life down me thinks! Fuck just the traffic. We just dont need to live life at a frenetic pace. Only arseholes want that, just so they can gloss over their fuck ups and callousness. -
Hard News: The next four years, in reply to

These issues sold very poorly. The kids weren’t buying it, maaaaaan..
"The kids" had yet to suffer the consequences of this fucked up decision making.
They had yet to figure out basing decisions purely based on the financial motives, and not looking past that. While it may work for an individual it is disastrous at any larger scale.
But otherwise nice memories.
