A popular German army song "Ich war der Putzer vom Kaiser" ("I was the Kaiser's batman") sung during World War I tells of a soldier who missed the horrors of service on the Western front by being the batman to Kaiser Wilhelm II.
It was set to a contemporary tune for a whistling version in 1967, and released under the title "I was Kaiser Bill's Batman" in the United Kingdom and United States. The artist credited was "Whistling Jack Smith"; the public performer of the tune and the actual whistler who created it were two different people.

Vast amounts of coverage of the tragedy in Myanmar (including hidden camera work across the border from TV3's Mike McRoberts)
Or so it would seem.
Whilst McRoberts did get into Myanmar in the following days, 3news' first lead story on the tradgedy was simply an Aljazeera story from the previous night, revoiced by McRoberts. I don't especially mind that per se, but there was no mention of the fact and the package was clearly intended to appear as original reporting.
Not cool.

I'm sure Davies is a bit tired of some of the same ol's, but shit, not playing Waterloo Sunset is a bit like the Queen saying 'Oh, sod trooping the colours this year'...
I have it on good authority that he was indeed intending to come back for a second encore - of 3 songs, including YRGM & WS - but the Civic turned the house lights on when they shouldn't have.

I don't support Clinton, but this one's been blown out of all proportion. Here's the full text:
Steve Kroft: “You don't believe that Senator Obama's a Muslim?” Steve Kroft asked Sen. Clinton.
Hillary Clinton: “Of course not. I mean, that, you know, there is no basis for that. I take him on the basis of what he says. And, you know, there isn't any reason to doubt that,” she replied.
SK: “You said you'd take Senator Obama at his word that he's not a Muslim. You don't believe that he's a Muslim and... or imply, right?,” Kroft said.
HRC: “No. No, there is nothing to... to base that on. As far as I know,”
To my mind, it's drawing a pretty long bow to consider that any kind of smear.
