Don't diss Singapore. It's a nice enough place, despite the Lees
for about 72 hours...the foods better in Bangkok, KL RI & Vietnam, the beer is cheaper anywhere in the world outside Scandinavia, the electronics are much cheaper in Jakarta, and the people are better mannered anywhere else in Asia.
Its safe though.....

Blair may not have control of the insurgency in Iraq now, but he certainly had some influence at some point that he could have used in a way that would have made the present not as bad.
Such as willfully ignoring and disregarding the repeated advice given to him prior to the war.
Or dropping the ball in the disaster that was the post invasion.
To walk away and say "we didn't know and we could never have predicted" is both utterly dishonest and the last refuge.

any country where the main sign of beauty is a pale skin that shows you don't work in the fields

After all, Reagan and Thatcher won the Cold War. Stupid as it sounded at the time, their foreign policy worked
And there was I thinking it was actually Gorby who decided not to play the game anymore, it was Gorby who repeatedly tried to wind back the Cold War to no Nato response, it was Gorby who offered unilateral disarmament in Iceland, before Reagan and Thatcher's policies had kicked in, it was Gorby who allowed the walls to tumble in Eastern Europe......

Well I do now! I
He was quite the superstar in Palmy. When I was at school there a few in my class had had him as a teacher at primary school as I recall...or at least they claimed as much...touched the hem etc....

but I do have quite a busy itinerary, which includes, if I'm up to it, meeting some local bloggers at a coffee shop that holds swing dance classes on Wednesday nights.
like the rest of that island nation, Singapore's coffee shops are quite odd
If ever a nation had no soul....
