A little later, an update on the double window. There's so much to focus on, I'm struggling with the stere0-visi0n. I disturbed one of the long spider threads - the string of light trailing off at the right is the answer blowin' in the wind.

Rebalanced, allowing the left-side dominance to take over, but still there are gems to the right.

    Season of mists ...
I was supposed to be on another mission, but after the rain, on the riverbank, it was particularly photogenic this morning -

You may have seen this same view just before sunrise before, but it was different today.

Some locals think it would be a good idea to de-tide the river with a gated weir, but the ducks and many others would disagree. The apparition in the water is no fish, but a white-faced heron coming in to land.

I looked for something of an anti-chilblain mental ointment for you, Jos -

Xanthoparmelia lichen cover on a stick on my stack of light stuff for starting up the wood-burner. Previously a small dead branch fallen from the walnut tree - now warm dryness of autumn looking forward to winter ...

Doom and gloom, Jos? But surely this is an uplifting image :-)

Grape and fig know that autumn is fully here, while the alder beyond is still in denial
    Grape especially.

    Grape especially
bright this year, some of it at least.

This morning's update of autumn from my doorstep 8days later.

    Autumn light
    rain falling,
    walnut branches
    feel the weight.

The same rain is falling up the coast at Uawa/Tolaga Bay where it will be said on Hauiti marae the rain is for Parekura Horomia lying there.

you could almost forget you're in the middle of a city of 20-odd million

Looks attractively liveable! Your summer-like in spring, here matching summer-like in autumn (but without the ducklings and willows) at the long beach Te Oneroa.

  • Capture: Pinhole Workshop 2013 - Photo Post, in reply to Lilith __,

    It’s the same tree. :-)

That's the see-through Moreton Bay fig in Albert Park, Auckland? A student haunt - I remember it well as was, then it being felled ~40 years ago leaving a vast hollow shell of a stump only say 10 cm thick, apparently dead. But numerous shoots sprouted forth around the perimeter, looking most ugly, disproportionate for years. But now they've all grown large themselves, filled in the space and merged together, you'd hardly know if you didn't know :-)
