I know it's already been posted in OurTube ... but dreary?!

Spoilers, I guess.
Do people really watch award shows? Wikipedia helpfully has the list.
The Sopranos took top drama honours, with 30 Rock taking comedy - TV3, answers, please...
James Spader beat Gandolfini 'though - seriously Boston Legal a drama?
Oh well. The disappointments with the Emmy's is rarely who wins, but who wasn't even nominated <cough>__The Wire__</cough>...

It's a play-off game - this is the kinda thing it's okay to have a show bumped for - if still a little annoying.
Speaking of Weeds, 'though - have a look at this nice collection of the changing opening credits.

I can't believe they put Felicity on there.
But ... important haircuts ... time travel...

Okay - we heard much from the TVNZ guy at TGB about their close (and expensive) relationship with Disney/ABC - why, when they took over this relationship from TV3 did they choose to drop World News Tonight - which TV3 played mid-nightish?
So it doesn't have Peter Jennings any more, but nightly broadcast news from the US always seemed so good. I want to want to watch broadcast news - like a good album, I think news benefits from coherent producing.
And in half an hour too.
Sport is rarely, if ever, news. World cup final - news. World cup anything else - not news. Hurricane - news. Weather tomorrow - not news. Paris murdered - news. Paris imprisoned - not news.

Thanks for doing this, I finally caught up with the first two, and it got me so interested in the area I started watching The Ascent of Man again...
**REPLY:** Very glad you're enjoying it, Graeme -- thanks for letting me know. Cheers, DH

Damnit!
Should be more careful that I don't copy a line break after the link, shouldn't I?

Time's TV critic has spent months compiling his 100 best list
For me, there are a few too many shows that are still on on it, but it's not bad for an Ameri-centric list.
'cept the absence of any documentary series - just type David Attenborough into imdb and point blindly at the screen already...

Remove all the fun from my bait, then...

Why is it people don't like Bill O'Reilly? :-)
If liberals accept that some people are going to be more right wing than they are, shouldn't they flock to the ones who - like BillO - support abortion rights, oppose the death penalty, and have no problem with gay marriage?
