I have been thrashing that Spanky Wilson cover on 7" for a while, always goes down well in a dj set. Heres a reggae take, from the legendary Jackie Mittoo...

On the new Orb/Lee Scratch Perry album, there's a track that starts with the words "What were the skies like when you were young, Lee Scratch Perry?"

oh, and here's a track I dig from Mark Vanilau, off an album from Oakley Grennell that came out in 2008... http://loopcrew.bandcamp.com/track/oakley-o-g-grenell-moving-on-ft-mark-vanilau

Thanks for the shout out!
re "You can listen to all the above over the internet (indeed, unless you live in or near Ponsonby, that’s the only way you’ll hear Base FM)."
AND it's on Freeview (and has been since around the time t launched), both terrestrial and satellite, channel 71.

Hey Yamis - at a guess, that venue sounds like one of BFMs legendary Private Functions at the Turners And Growers warehouses that used to be on the waterfront, before that part of town got totally cleaned up. As far as the song goes, heck, that description covers a bunch of our stuff - maybe Smokin and Fumnin?. I suggest checking our Bandcamp page - we reissued a bunch of our music recently. On Cd and iTunes/amplifier etc. http://hallelujahpicassos.bandcamp.com/
Hope that helps -
