We'll miss you. You made Budgets real.

I replaced all the lights in my house with CFLs last year. The place was built in the 80s so I used the occasion to remove all the bloody dimmer switches too. Does anyone actually like them? I use candles sometimes, they actually are romantic. Unlike my pre-3rd Form violin playing.

ABC TV here in Aus seem to have nicked the name for a Frontlinesque satire for the noughties.
Do they owe Nicky Hager a pint or two for the name (or T S Elliot for that matter)?

mmm cheese rolls. They don't exist in Australia. Does the Thyme Out Tea Rooms recipe have that soupçon of finely chopped onion? That's the best.
Why is it something so simple to make is something I don't think I've ever cooked?

Danielle, I found myself in exactly the same musical position but, thanks to the time difference here in Canberra, it's only been about half an hour. Slightly back on topic: what about iPod's, specifically the touch ones, are they part of the 'dextriarchy' too? I can't tell cos I'm very right handed; if it's not a fork or a gear lever I can't use it.

Is this the hoodie Foucault might wear?
I am a fan of the Boss, that is a lovely mix, made my day (which is a sickie and needed making).
Also I have a hoodie (only one - though my better half buys them like they are going out of fashion which I spose they aren't). Strangely I only bought it recently having always felt it was a bit fraudulent to wear one if your'e not planning to nick something.

I have very fond memories of an Easter at a rented crib near Curio Bay as a kid. When the Southerly was really going for it (the original that is) we would go down to the beach in raincoats and open them up like bats' wings, jump in the air and 'fly' backwards. It was very cool, it almost made the powdered milk bearable.
Canberra's been imitating Adelaide a bit and been the wrong side of 30 for the last few days too -roll on frosty mornings.
And I hope you get to see a snowy Mt Anglem, very pretty from the Mainland when it's sunny.

Neal Stephenson made a similar comment in Interface: in the 1800s it was all about character (Lincoln) in the 1900s charisma (Hitler, JFK), now it's all visual media scrutiny and with HDTV there's going to be a change of guard. I wonder if that's why the media here in Aus did so many up-the-nostril shots on election night!
And, if you'll forgive the vulgarityActually, Hilary will be the first person to freeze their tits off.
...that would look quite freaky on a giant HD screen.
