Sewage/Sewerage. I stand corrected on my previous remark. soily me.
Which reminds me. Any news on Mr. Dalziel? -
Damn, missed the 15 mins.
That figure of $0.25 per $100.00 seems out of whack to me it appears to be close to $5.00 per $100.00 of value and as home insurance is, generally, based on replacement cost, those figures should be closer. The principal remains the same however. -
And should the limit of $100K+GST per house be revisited?
I think that figure is ok. The actual cost of replacement has not increased along the same lines as land values. Originally the Earthquake insurance program evolved from the War Damage act and so only covered improvement value, if your land slips into the sea, or river, tough but the building is covered. This assessment was based on Fire insurance and levied at $0.25 per $100.00.
It has been proposed that a levy based on unimproved land at a rate of $0.25 per $100 be collected by local Councils this, in my opinion, would be a disaster, in itself, and lead to those with large holdings taking a bigger slice of the pie and bankrupting the Country when "The Bigone" hits.
Some interesting info. Here
The figure of $100k is enough to get everyone back under a roof, let's not start talking about "Hard Earned Money"™ on this one. -
This would never have happened if they'd left Hubbard in charge of South Cantebury Finance. Lousy interfering government.
And I would like to take this opportunity to remind everybody that there has never been an earthquake of these proportions in this area under a Labour Government, because Labour Cares.
Emma and family are feeling fortunate to have both electricity and sewerage.
I would have thought Sewerage was one of the things you wouldn't want to have. However, electric poos do sound kinda different.

Saw Bob Parker on TV earlier, flanked by two high ranking police officers, he was lovin' it. With 80 extra police coming down from Auckland and the Army on call, to help "clean up" you can guarantee the the Dairy farmers will now get all the water they want. According to Geologists this fault line is a bit of a mystery causing some to speculate the possibility of human interference and probable complicity with recent financial movements in the area,
"It's down to human interference and probable complicity with recent financial movements in the area" said Ivan Aluminiumhat, a spokesperson for Fear Without Frontiers who is opposing the 7pm-7am curfew, "It's all a plot to steal our water" he says "they bought off the wizard with a Queens medal in 2009 and it's been all downhill since". Ivan then scurried off into the remains of Whiskey Galore. -
More to come apparently...

Bugger, just thinking about how JK and English have just spent all our "Hard Earned Money"™ Canterbury property investments...

If you're a brickie, a chippie, or a plumber, get yourself down here.
Apparently there's plenty of bailout money to grab.
But seriously, sympathies to all those affected by the event. -
Many women who do not dress modestly ... lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes
EMMMAAAAA!!!
