Rich - certainly an entire contract isn't necessarily voided by a failure to perform all of it - what is needed generally (and it would depend whether the contract was subject to NZ law, or some other law) is a fundamental breach.
The IRB will have very thorough lawyers and I suspect eventualities like this will have been included in the contract - it will have been agreed that the failure to allow all teams to participate would be a fundamental breach (thus allowing the avoiding of the contract).
As an aside, I would guess that the contract would be subject to English law, not NZ law.

The system works!
The Asian population is now "surging", rather than having doubled.
-
Okay - is this One News article (their second lead, after Fiji) worse than the concerns Keith raised about Coddington's N+S article?
This is exactly what I hate about TV journalism.
Headline: "Asian community doubles in census"
Opening paragraph:
"The first results from the 2006 Census reveal New Zealand's population is surging, with the Asian community doubling in the past five years."
Later explanation:
"The Asian ethnic group had the biggest growth since 2001, up 48.9 % to reach 354,552. The Asian ethnic group now represents 9.2% of those who stated their ethnicity, which is almost half as many again since the last census in 2001.
Racism - if we say double, even though it's a lie - it's news because there are too many Asians?
Or incredible incompetence - 50% increase is double, right?

Okay, so how cool was the EML interview with Hone Harawira about The Tour?
Getting Desmond Tutu to testify at his trial...

No extras to speak of? We got extras for the first half of the season - a large number of deleted scenes (15-20mins for some episodes) and the podcasts. Gotta say I wouldn't have minded waiting a bit so we could have gotten all the bonus features, however.
At $69.95 you're being robbed at the moment however, Whitcoulls (I love Whitcoulls, and they probably love me) is selling it at $49.95 at the moment.

censor...
quite.
Love it, but it's one of those excellent local kidult dramas nobody is watching on a Saturday afternoon.
The Lost Children was excellent wasn't it?
-
"It was, by the way, the first OF scene ever to be sent to the censor for checking."
How odd. The censor has nothing to do with broadcast television.
-
And if you're at the right Whitcoulls (Lambton Quay, I'm looking at you) you can find season 2 of BSG for $50.
There are Outrageous Fortune ep titles?

How long the "epg" has been in the URL I don't know (forever?), but the guide has been in that format since nzoom. It's certainly the on-line guide I use.
The only thing missing is episode information for non-TVNZ channels - if you want to find out what Simpsons episode is being shown on a particular night you need to go to the TV3 site :)
-
Yeah - it's surprising what has screened free-to-air here at some odd hour - although the Doco channel could give some added value and screen the 10 episode "special edition", instead of the standard 7 episode version...
