Only that in bygone days "rugby songs" was shorthand for very rude and ribald ditties sung amongst men. And not songs about rugby.
Like this one?

I can see the reason to ban video and still photography that might have involved actual abuse or criminality. But plain text like a book would (almost) always have no such involvement (I can think of no case where someone diarised their crimes and published the result?).
Most developed nations have given up censoring text (either de facto or through a law change), I think NZ is one of the last nations to enthusiastically ban books.

"It is good to see that talk is talk is being generated already particularly with David Bowie I mean, wouldn't we all love it if Bowie did come."
Translation:
We've been plugging that Bowie story like mad on all the boardz, and it's working! -
As for the cops, Tom, they'd rather stop all drinking (as opposed to going back to the "swill") because they spend so much time cleaning up the mess. Same with ER doctors. They see the worst outcomes of drinking on a daily basis, so is it any wonder that they're not enthused about ever-longer opening hours and wider availability of alcohol?
Those groups will always have an exaggerated view of any problem because of their roles.
If they don't like the way things are, they can always take up another career, or move to Saudi Arabia (probably more jobs for ER doctors than cops over there).
Doing a neccesary job in the frontline doesn't give you the right to decide policy. Firefighters might want petrol banned, but it isn't going to happen.

Yeah, Left Bank of what? Even with rain like today and the Bucket Fountain going full bore, Cuba St is hardly the Seine.
I think it all comes down to Kerry really wanting to be Mayor of Paris, but failing on account of neither being French, or any bloody good. So she tries to infuse pretension into Wellington and spends half her year on overseas jollies.

who is playing at Big Day Out 2010?
Michael Jackson, Phil Spektor and Depeche Mode.

In Auckland, for example, we're all about Fashion Week
Only after Cameron Brewer censored out all the Boobs On Bikes postings...

The part they didn't do was to turn the rest of it into a matching dancehall venue.
Isn't part of the attraction that it's a pub? There are proper theatre-style venues, like the Studio, but I think the KA has more character. The Barfhouse in Wellington is similar.

Um, IANAL, but firstly, isn't there such a thing as collection copyright in some jurisdictions - e.g. a copyright in a collection of information that has required skilled input to accumulate and catalogue?
Secondly, if the original photographs are under the control of someone (such as the ACC) can they not set contractual terms on anyone gaining access to them? That isn't copyright, but (if the contract is properly agreed to) it is enforceable?

[regarding Bhatnagar's plan for a compulsory 50:1 punter/bouncer ratio] This really does not make any sense.
I guess it's a form of outdoor relief for the thug fraternity, funded by a tax on entertainment.
So if a bar has a fire limit of 500, it'll need 10 bouncers? What will they all do, apart from get bored and start fights.
(Ok, there are some decent bouncers around, but probably not enough to meet the demand for these sort of numbers. Especially as places that just don't *need* security will have to employ thugs for the first time).
