I don't see why you would. The amount of money donated to Greenpeace, some of which goes to the Vote for the Environment Campaign, which ranks the parties on environmental policies and tends to give the Greens the highest score isn't figured into how much they get.
Because some people view politicians as lying, worthless, two faced, ammoral wind-bags and think their subsequent election is at best a necessary evil. These people prefer to engage in politics in ways that do not involve handing money directly to politicians, but they still vote.

If senior members of the Maori Party had come out with anything approaching that degree of weirdness, it'd be front-page news.
The Maori Party actually hold real political power, what they do matters because they control swing votes in the centre. The ACT and Green parties are outlying appendages to National and Labour. They contain the crazier wings of right and left where they can generate ideas that might be adopted by their respective allies, but they are never going to climb into bed with the other side.

Here? I'd have said it was all about poll ratings in New Zealand. In the US fundraising is a pretty good proxy for support because:
1. only individual citizens can donate to candidates; and
2. such donations are limited to $2000.Unless you count 527 money.

The Swedes are taking steps to address their education problems:
Sweden’s education minister, Jan Björklund, says this easygoing attitude is changing in response to the country’s dismal test performances. The ministry is developing a new, rigorous national curriculum, and by 2011, teachers will give grades starting in sixth grade. Younger students will also share the sting of failure if they perform poorly: new national tests, from the third grade on, will determine which students are held back until they can improve their scores.
