  • Cracker: Midweek Medley,

is that what was happening that time you invited me into someone's bedroom at a party to listen to records?

Correction....you might even have a second chance...listen to records ay?...putting that peice of gold next to "take a look at my etchings". Wicked!! Am learning so much on this thread today and there's not even the faintest sign of Juha....

The stuff from Morgan is interesting, but he is also hardly a disinterested party. He is slagging off an entire industry with which he is directly competing. Wise he might be but independent he is not.

He's far from hiding this from what I saw. Whilst cleaning up the industry may provide a bit of a windfall for his organisation (and/or other's that are less dubious), I'd suggest Gareth is more interested in seeing people heading down one of the right paths to financial security. To me his philophanthropic efforts are a good indicator of just how much making a buck off kiwisaver personally means to him. He could care less, but doesn't.

  • Cracker: Midweek Medley,

And Damian you made it look like the three-way was totally Katie's idea. You are the man! Expect a call from Lyle Lovett's publisher...I hear they are looking to add a few chapters to his 'Scoring way out of your league' book to replace Paul Holmes (post Hine).

Suspect if Katie's bold enough to proposition 2 strangers simultaneously on the web, she must be a keeper! </bloke-isms>

they weren't interested in would-be suitors who sent pictures of their knobs to prospective paramours.

Crickey!...guess that means people will just have to impress the lay-dees by telling them their nicknames for their appendages. Which reminds me of a site good for finding interesting links, that I'll blame Stephen Judd for peaking my curiousity about, being Metafilter (I'll second Stephen's recommendation about it being a good way to pass time online!).

The following link is unlikely to be NSFW mainly because of the reactions, rather than any images (well none I found, but then again I had to stop reading after a few letters). It's a site about someone pretending to want some biker/outlaw penpals.

the biggest impact on the NZ Singles chart.

As a point of clarification the single chart is not the same NZ Dating singles chart that Damian blogs about.

A friend of a friend worked for many years at HMV, ECM or whatever it was back in the 90's. He advised that the favourite weekly tasks/games of store managers was to see which one of them could have the biggest impact on the NZ Singles chart.

    Stop avoiding the question

Reading between the lines I think you just got propositioned Damian. (Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!)

  • Cracker: Midweek Medley,

Mediawatch no less. Lock up your daughters, Cracker has arrived.

Gee, I hate to disappoint you Damian, but generally speaking unless someone is really ancient, their daughters aren't listening to Mediawatch.

Suspect you're a massive hit on the seniors and retirement home circuit though fulla. I hear there's loads of available ladies there. Suspect you could even take a few off RB's hands and that new media whore Steve Haywood. Reckon you might even have a chance with that Che guy.(...what sort of a name is "Che" btw? Is it an abbrev of Chesney or something?)

    (good post D!)

Managed to catch one of Gareth Morgan's seminars recently in which he gave his opinion on both what seems likely to occur in broad terms to the NZ economy in the coming years and specifically Kiwisaver.

Whilst Gareth more than most knows the importance of investing for the future, he was scathing about the number of sharks in superannuation game and the lack of foresight in not attempting to sort things out before channeling massive volumes of cash towards this industry. In Gareth's opinion Kiwisaver is little more than a political football being kicked around for brownie points.

With regards to inflation expect that post election steps will be taken to bring inflation under control in a way that won't be tolerated prior to an election (true the Reserve Bank is supposed to be free from government influence, but I can't see the government implementing policy that will soften the blow post election). Interest rates are sure to rise and it seems to me that anyone with skills will be forced to look for an income that will help them meet their financial commitments. To me this means either trade up your current role, head offshore where pay rates are better, or lose your mortgage/millstone.

With regards to wage rates in NZ, we seem to be lagging behind the rest of the world already. Enough's enough around slowing inflation by stopping inflationary pressures due to rising wages.

All the growth due to the property value is massively inflationary. If wages don't catch up then there are uncertain times ahead.

    3. If I have anything to do with it, Jon's soul will go to hell for posting that link. I am already drafting a letter to the Pope.

<Impression of the not nice Iain Paisley begins> A PAPIST eh!? <Impression of the not nice Iain Paisley ends...resumption of agnostic transmission begins>

If there is a God in the Christian sense, save yourself the paper & postage, I'm already on that list.
