Weird. I've heard that story too, but the child was called Mt Eden Bus Stop.
I heard it was Mt Albert Bus Stop; no clarification as to conception or birth, but because the person was arrested when a policeman that stopped him (god knows why) thought he was taking the piss.

Nice work!
The one thing that I'm most curious about is this: given her continued vehement defense of her article, does she still believe that the article's intent is accurate? That the gathering asian crime tide is still ominous enough to warrant sending them back?

You know, the opposite of Coddingtonswallop.
Ng-candescent? 8-)

My 3 news low point: Monday, I think, on Nightline Carly Flynn introduced one story by saying that due to editorial & time constraints, they had to choose between doing a story about the queen's birthday honours, and a duck. "Guess which one we chose!" (cue story about a duck). Apparently there was no similar dilemma about them showing Paris Hilton getting slagged off at the MTV awards, which they hyped extensively. LAME!

OTOH, I got caught once inserting earplugs by a roadie for Motorhead, before a concert by said band. He was most disdainful.
Pfff! Motorhead's gig last year was the least loud I've been to in years! I would've thought they'd have to pump the volume right up just so that their noise-damaged heads could hear the foldback, but no.
Actually, it was really good - still nicely wall-of-sound, but not hideously screechy.

You are also entitled to think that the UK Labour Party is "creepy" and "fascistic", for all that helps to advance your case.
I don't think the ASBO is a particularly enlightened legislation, but didn't really think much of it. However, with talk of introducing national identity cards (with the eventual goal of not allowing anyone to get a passport without one) and transport tracking (for the purposes of reducing carbon emissions), the UK government starts looking creepier by the month.

My gym is pretty kooky - all the girls have perfectly lovely names, but if you line them all up it sounds like the cast of young & the restless. We're required to come up with stage names, but the lists are practically interchangeable. The list includes Tegan, Paige, Alex, Alix, Alyse, Elise, Margaux, Amber, Ann-Sophie, Kara, Greta, Nicoletta, Zuleika, Senta, Charisse, Sabrina, Serena, Selena, Celine & Sarita.

why do they assume i'm male?
I confess, I thought you were a guy at first. To my pakeha brain "Anjum" sounded like it'd be a guy's name, I don't know why. I'd probably make the same mistake with the name "Stacey".

Where's Noizyboy? He should totally be in on this conversation.
...and congratulations!
...and an ex o' mine went to school with a girl called Ophelia Cox, apparently.
