I would like to think that "Outing" the protagonist of a dubious claim would be news. As much as celebrity name suppression is news.
It has been mentioned several times that defamation law is not as good as it could be and how inadequate a tool it is in social networks.
If you want to be important and expose the evils that others do then you should be prepared to stand and be recognised.
Even if all you are saying is "someone at the Herald wrote something that could be interpreted as being not Kosher"

  • Busytown: A turn-up for the books,

When I was a fresh first year at Uni I was so impressed by one particular lecture that it changed my perspective of that part of my subject, it didn't fit with the other lectures but was somehow more enlightening. I did some further reading, as you do and in checking some detail on line I discovered the entire backbone of the lecture written by some professor in Chicago. I proceeded to cut and paste large chunks of said lecture into my assignment. The next week I was called up to the head of departments office and told in no uncertain terms that I would be receiving no marks for the paper as it was too close to the lecture and that was plagiarism. Not so said I and referred him to my sources in the endnotes. I got an A for that assignment. Nothing more was said but needless to say that particular lecturer never spoke to me again.

I recall an incident a a Leonard Cohen gig where the audience seemed to be more of a jazz persuasion than a Singer/Songwriter/Poet sort of an audience. The crowd started clapping after every solo from the supporting musicians, which I thought rather disrespectful to Mr Cohen. In my best inquisitive extraterrestrial manner I asked my partner, in a not too quiet tone, "What is all this with the banging together of the hands" As we got up to leave I was informed by the woman that was sitting next to us that I had ruined her evening with "All my complaining"
    Geez, who are these people?.

    A few weeks???
Geez, I'm glad I have nothing to do with all that iStuff. You would think, in a digital age and Apple claiming to be "Up There with it" they would have that fixed in the bat of an accountants eye. Truly appalling. I, for one, do not welcome our digital overlords.
Apples are for eating and Macintoshes are for wearing in the rain. It's just not PC.

  • Busytown: A turn-up for the books,

If Ihimaera had just released the book online we could now be looking at "The Trowenna Sea", SP2 and all the fuss could be written off as a coding error.
Re-Kindleing the fires of Fahrenheit 451 anyone?.

    I daren't throw such beauties.

Well of course not. Those are designed for intricate surgery not throwing. Although I did rather like the matching eye gouging spoons.
    Yours are more like this.
