I must confess to having been at only one BDO, in 2010 when I was playing with Batucada Sound Machine on the Local Produce stage. My day (and gig) was somewhat tainted by an impending 'meeting' with the manager and the band leader to 'discuss the lineup' (i.e. band's too big, how about you quit?). Added to that, I don't really like crowds. I took some photos though, and this one sums up how I was feeling on that day.

Did anyone else LOL at the venues for election-night parties? Seemed fitting to the point of cliché:
National: Sky City
Act: Barrycourt Motor Lodge
Greens: St Kevin's Arcade
NZ First: Spencer on Byron
Labour: Mt Roskill War Memorial Hall
Mana: On the street -
Cool. I concur.

Brilliant. Thank you.

Te Atatatu Peninsular
Russell, as a resident I feel an obligation to correct you. It's Te Atatu Peninsula.
Or Te Atatu North, though some of the posher residents would have you up for that.
But never Te Atatatu Peninsular.
Just sayin. -
Just a bloody shame it is so expensive. For a self-employed front-end designer like me, who is on the geek fringe, I just can't justify spending that much on something which I'm afraid will just be too geeky. I'd like Webstock taster tickets please, so I can dip my toe in without bankrupting myself.

Indeed it was AKSamba, and I was one of Sunday's "tub thumpers". One of our members is doing the Taupo Ironman and running the London Marathon this year, raising money for The Meningitis Trust, so we were busking in order to raise sponsorship money for her.
You can sponsor Jeanette here.
You obviously got unlucky. We were as far away from the Mission Bay shops as possible and only played for about 35 minutes. Sorry to put you off your bruschetta. We only have a busking licence for Auckland City, so I would suggest lunching in a different part of greater Auckland next time.
Or come closer for a proper listen. You might even enjoy it.Thanks for the support Stephen Judd and webweaver. Sambistas gotta stick together.
