when i had my heart op they stuck six or seven large needles into my groin in order to run copper up to the heart (aside: was operated on by Dr. Michael Love).
afterwards i had three (3!) nurses tiding up the litre or so of blood with water and lots of soft cotton wool buds.
now some would look upon all that daubing and dabbing of one's privates as sexy.
i learned that not all things crotch-related are erotic.

1. have had to shave genitals, and took to referring to privates as "the baby elephant". was wondering if you did the same.
2. did you know that we have a clinic here in wellington called, 'snip vasectomy clinic'?

i learned to swim in the surf at mount maunganui, in the days when we could toddle off down the beach by ourselves.

good thing i was merely expressing dismay. a point would have had more substance that, "i'm agin it!"
i will however concede your argument about the public utility of the $9million price tag.

In terms of cost though, it is certainly akin to digging a whole and burying it. Almost literally
precisely. it's not "nourishment", it's beautification. a bit like spray-painting one's grass greener.
all that sand just washes out into your estuary, then out to sea somewhere.

a correlation between the removal of complusory swimming lessons and drownings.

can i register my intense dislike for "resanded beaches".
there's no sand on them because there are no waves to carry sand to them. it's a waste of money they also operate here for Oriental Parade.
if you don't like the idea of your non-sandy beach actually being a freaking mudflat or estuary, then... i don't know what. book in for a reality check somewhere...
let's face facts [disclaimer: those 3 words channelled from talkback radio], a toddler doesn't care if the beach is golden brown or mud-brown. and the water beyond the resanding remains the same.
