Can't we go back to shaking our heads at Michael Laws?
Shaking our heads won't achieve anything. Cutting his balls off, on the other hand...
-
Or you could try hear, hear. Don't mean to be a pain, but it's like the twelfth time I've come across it this week. I think you're all wilfully trying to confuse me.
-
Thanks Gio, made my week.
I don't know why I said it was OT, it's in fact perfectly pertinent. It's got dates all over the place but nothing in Christchurch for a while by the looks.

I'm sure I'd have something witty to say if I knew who Hatherley was.
-
Something almost Hatherleyite
Gasp! I knew the man had a large following, but the throwaway adjectivisation is a whole nother level.
-
Meanwhile, Nick Smith and Rodney Hide get to 'review' ECan.
Yeah, about that... I don't know much about art, but I know what I like. This from a Christchurch artist.
(Very OT, but another Christchurch artist, Marian Maguire, is exhibiting in Wellington. Go see her work, dammit.)

Come on, now. Central Wellington is the wealthiest constituency in the country. Virtually everyone is middle-class, or a student.
You wrote Wellington and central Wellington. I live halfway down Adelaide road, which is not exactly the Hutt. Also, Newtown, Lyall Bay... come on.

Couple of things: you do realise that Emma lives in Christchurch, right? I'd also be moderately careful about who you're calling wealthy urbane elite.
Secondly, this
Wellington and Central Wellington are by-in-large middle-class only zones: all the "white trash," and the poor, uneducated and often disenfranchised and angry people live out of sight and out of mind,
happens not to be true. By a long shot.

What George said.

But you see Phil Goff is tough on criminals, so he was hardly going to object even apart from the political difficulties.
He's too busy waiting for John Key's gloss to come off - it's a full time job that.
