A Chocolate Brickley Paiste... Monty Python sketches were born from such thoughts.

I wonder whether he is also responsible for the posters around the place (which look almost professional) advising people to not get a flu jab?

Russell, can I ask what the Uncensored reference was in regards to? Did Eisen and his crowd have a stall at the market or were they just running amok (I imagine he runs amok rather than having a stately presence)?

  • Hard News: The son that got away,

I'm a little curious as to how accurate the translations of the letters to Laws are; the English seems a little over the top in places and, and this might be the nascent Conspiracy Theorist in me, it's quite possible the 'I'm quite angry' comments are overinflated. If the te reo text had been released along with the English translations we'd be in position to to find out.

  • OnPoint: Gotcha?,

I like how, in Cactus Kate's incredibly badly written denoucement of both Keith and Russell, she goes from phrasing hypotheticals such as:

When you all go out does Russell Brown claim the entertainment expenses through this company?

    to assertions like:

If you are not being paid to work for him what is the legal justification for this entertainment expense?

I mean, why doesn't she just ask what appears to the kind of question she really wants an answer to, which is 'When did you stop beating your wife?'

  • Hard News: A voice of reason and authority,

Even Libertarian David Kelley tried to get Perigo to understand what philosophers' mean when they say an argument is "valid", but he just didn't get it.

It's really quite embarrassing. Perigo's insistence on an 'Objectivist' logic which somehow only works from true propositions to infer true conclusions is hilarious. Objectivists like to claim that their logic is the pure variety Aristotle was peddling but methinks Aristotle wouldn't recognise it.

  • Hard News: A voice of reason and authority,

The Free Radical and SOLO sites are pretty hard to search but here is the beginning of the debate:

    http://www.freeradical.co.nz/content/debate/intro.php
    http://www.freeradical.co.nz/content/debate/nola1.php
    http://www.freeradical.co.nz/content/debate/perigo2.php

They go on for a while; there doesn't appear to be an index of the posts but I think it stops at about Perigo 6 and Nola 6.

  • Hard News: A voice of reason and authority,

Whenever I think of Lindsay Perigo I think of the correspondence he had with Robert Nola a few years ago, in which Perigo demonstrated that he and a proper understanding of arguments are not acquainted.

Those numbers, Philip, are somewhat scary and reassuring; it's terrible to think that many people might be reading those magazines and yet it's good to know that it isn't a massively large part of the reading population.

Any chance to see the article you wrote (he askes especially as one of the people interviewed)?

Well, chalk it up to some typo on my part; I thought I added a | after the /. Let's make this a vote for being able to edit (for some window of time) comments.
