  • Hard News: The United States of Surveillance?, in reply to Rich of Observationz,

I wonder whether our rulers actually wanted to release this stuff.

    My thoughts, too.
Smoke and mirrors - looky here, looky here, while the hidden assistants shift the furniture, and that glitzy new NSA complex in Utah is your classic illusionist's box...
...where were they gonna get the data to fill it?
Meanwhile commercial interests happily mine face recognition (meat data?) and other openly available information (thru FaceBook etc) for their own ends - someone is always trying to sell us something! The Govt is no different.
Prism is an apt name - it's as if they thought 'we can just split the disinfectant of sunlight into bands of colour - divide and rule...'

Perhaps it was all just a misunderstanding - and Obama is just big on public servers... not service.

  • Hard News: The United States of Surveillance?, in reply to Lilith __,

    Masonic Couth?

While still creepy and weird, it may seem fairly
    usual symbolism to many Americans.

All part of the rich Masonic underpinnings and heritage of their upper power echelons - in the current climate of simmering fear, verging on a rolling, roiling boil, there will be many of the cognoscenti out in the littoral zone, digging just below the high water mark for that age old delicacy - tongueless whistleblowers...

...there are times when I think the world needs just one good global EMP, to get the planet back to factory settings - but then no PAS, so I'll be careful what I wish for...

These are more than interesting times, more like testing times...
...there is no control, and we are the lab!

flow my tears thru a scanner darkly…

Minority Report could be de-fictionalising sooner than we think.

Worse, we could be heading towards a Phillip K. Dicktatorship….

    Windsor wooooahh!
    I’ve been fossicking away up in the north 40 of the Silverfish Ranch, and have found some gems I’ll send thru to AudioCulture soon – but I thought Russell might have fond memories of this first image;
and I ’ve been searching for this second one (and 3rd detail) for a while – a poster I made from lotsa Chris Knox Windsor ads (and some of mine – the stilted looking ones..)
    Brings back memories…

    Double Dipton?

I think both cities can claim parentage.

I'm guessing on those criteria this makes The Tall Dwarfs a Southland band... that should put it on the map!

  • Notes & Queries: Paul, in reply to andin,

Then there is Work & Income New Zealand.
Yes, there it sits that institutionalised insult to the wondrous human capacity to show compassion and care for our fellow beings. This is what should be driving us, our motivation to grow as a conscious species, not money or even worse that insult to us all “free markets”.

    Standing ovation! Well said...

  • Notes & Queries: Paul, in reply to Dylan Bland,

What is this? I’m not sure I like it.

I understand why you might not recognise this. It is called empathy, something that used to flourish in this country, but has now been largely eradicated in the wild, by the efforts of micromanagers and powerful sociopaths.

  • Notes & Queries: Paul,

David, I was well engaged, and then you nailed it with what could've been the opening line:

It was the budgies that did it.

    Magic!
Thanks for letting me slip into someone else's shoes for a while, an eye, and heart, opener.
