Folks – if it was a ‘no brainer’ to move to solar – every one would do it; instead we have the arguments for/against for trying to save planet/energy/money.
It you have to argue – it is obviously NOT compelling.
So – are we going to save planet/energy/money – or are we just going to “feel good” ?
Maybe green energy isn’t a reality after you have looked at the whole picture – a bit like the bio-energy fiasco.I guess the question really is: how honest is Mr Stamper prepared to be? (I’m intrigued at the idea Stamper is paid to do this work. Earnest low-wage-petroleum-slave-writer, pocket crank, or PR maven?)

I'd like to make a press council complaint about Glucina's alleged deceit. Anyone know if someone else is doing this already?
I keep going through Curry, Glucina and Tim Murphy's tweets, quotes and 'statements'. They started the day saying Bailey's claims (about Glucina) were totally untrue. Yet the final Herald statement seems completely - in a very weaselly way - compatible with Bailey's account. In some details it supports, in others confirms it.
There's an attempt to muddy the waters with talk of 'a pool story'.
Is this a real thing (apart from in extreme circumstances)? Is it common at the Herald that they'd share their copy? Has Glucina ever written a 'pool story' before? -

But my father served in the Dutch army during WWII and I know almost nothing about his experiences. Except the very gaps tell a story, not a fun exciting boys own story.
A good mate started giving me (via facebook messages) stories of his family's lives during wartime in Holland. Absolutely remarkable - horrific in so many ways. I hadn't realised how many people starved in WW2 (more than died in combat).
The last 6 months - when the outcome was not in doubt - in Holland were the most terrible. His dad didn't talk about it, but one of his uncles did. -
there were also iwi, disposessed of their land, their populations already ravaged, who wanted no part of the Empire’s war, and Maori who absconded from conscription for the same reason.

I felt an unexpected surge of pride in celebrating ANZAC day (I'd just pinned on a poppy) when Checkpoint announced the 'Anzac of the year' was Louise Nicholas. Came out of left field, but if that's what the RSA et al really want to celebrate this year, I'm pretty bloody pleased.
