Doesn't the Swedish system also have a demographic balance policy in place which makes compulsory busing look like a picnic? If so, that's one fact the voucherisation supporters won't mention.

As far as I'm concerned Aussie motorsports jumped the shark after the Godzilla GTR was outlawed after the 1992-93 season. Gentleman Jim Richards' outburst was just priceless.

Wellington's council, for all its faults, has gotten it right far more often than its Auckland counterpart in regards to waterfront development.
Things will likely get more interesting if Len Brown takes the AKL mayoralty and does a Ken Livingstone in the Beehive's direction. Would the Sheriff of Epsom do a GLC-style de-merger out of spite if that came to pass?

I can understand being upset about this. But how is this different to anything under the last Labour/Alliance/NZFirst/United-Future Government?
In fairness, Helen personally did favour partial de-crim. However, Jim Anderton was opposed, and Peter Dunne made the status quo a condition of his minority support.
Whereas current Governmental opposition to cannabis reform seems to be stronger from up high, without the aid of coalition partners.
