    Romney Border cross...

but his concession speech made me wonder if I had the measure of the man.

I suspect it was tinged by a little relief, he was never gonna do a good job as president - now if the US can just get Obama to spend waaaay less on wars of all kinds, they may even have a future worth heading towards....

    Be preraped, er, prepared...

Also note: the conditions that allowed Savile to offend in plain sight have not magically disappeared since the 1970s.

Some chipping at the edges though. The Boy Scouts of America have finally released their "Perversion Files", after a two year legal battle...

The Scouts began keeping the files shortly after their creation in 1910, when pedophilia was largely a crime dealt with privately. The organization argues that the files helped them track offenders and protect children. But some of the files released in 1991, detailing cases from 1971 to 1991, showed repeated instances of Scouts leaders failing to disclose sex abuse to authorities, even when they had a confession.

Britain's pedophiles will get off very lightly if only the fallen, or low hanging fruit, like Glitter and Savile are flushed from the shadows, I suspect their capering betwixt Limelight and Twilight, also saw them in a procurer's role - like Garish Lawfords to JFK's Grimy Camelot.
I'm not saying that Kennedy was a pedophile, just I'd imagine there might be a similar symbiotic relationship between Savile and the Great-and-Not-So-Good... - Every Court needs its Jester.

    I teed off worng…

    5 charity hour golf match

er, 5 hour charity golf match…

    a salt and battery…
…but to be extra charitable, Key allowed a local
fish & chip shop proprietor to beat him.

Bend me, shape me, shame me….

The irony of denigrating a man’s intelligence with a malapropism

    Priceless.

It’s not like he just uses the wrong words, but he also seems to use the wrong worlds!

I suspect John Key’s porn star name would be a mere anagram – Honey JK… – and that he’d be comfortable with that.

I heard Paula Bennett the other night, apparently stunned – “It seems incredulous to me that it wasn’t escalated to the right people,’’ she said.
Good to see her self diagnostic programs are running on top.
Kinda like some of the computerised roadside sign boards that proliferate in Chchch, giving latest local route information, I spotted one the other day, on the Bealey & Fitzgerald aves cnr, flashing out: “LOOKING FOR NETWORK”, evocative of the bleak way forward here perhaps, but otherwise not very helpful…

    Down wit’ da kidz…

It would not surprise me if the “List of Offenders” grew so big that we would have to admit it was statistically normal.

Which maybe explains why John Key, finds it necessary to impress young christian boarding schoolgirls, by using words like batshit, while endorsing and modelling classic bullying behaviour, by illustrating that it’s ok to denigrate and belittle people who have done you a kindness… (especially if you think you’ll get a cheap laugh out of it – and Key is proving to be the King of Cheap Laughs, to our expense!)
All this before racing off to a 5 charity hour golf match – what a man, what a leader!

    floribundant imaginings…

    California inside
    Botheration daisy shake

    These are great!
What other tracks are on this album?
    I think I used to own it…

That first one has to be Georgia O’Keeffe
artwork – covering the Mamas and the Papas
    and that psychedelic shake-kaleidoscope
has gotta be Country Joe and the Fish…
(or was it Tech Pistil & the Flaming Stamen?)

I love the shapes they throw…
When will we be able to
    grow our own architecture?
    Something we can dance to…
or maybe we already do know how to do it,
but ya just can’t do it in cities / hives
and ya can’t get hung up on permanence…

    With an ululation of elation
    the meme screams away…
look for the new series: Nomad Men!

    The Gong Show

It was nice that Toy Love got the recognition they deserve…even if the setting was hideous. We waited up all night…way past our bedtime…to see the lovely old folk get their gongs. But was it worth it?

I sat through that travesty of a show to see that very thing… musta drifted off about one ad break away from it happening… nek minnit – midnight! Missed it completely, I hope someone puts that and the tribute band on YouTube or somewhere…

    slapped around…

Joe Wylie made for them one of New Zealand’s most memorable music videos:

…and also created one of my favourite Toy Love posters (see above)…
    own your own

…tomorrow at Real Groovy Records in Auckland…

There should also be at least 25 sets of the Toy Love Poster postcards on sale (see picture above)
these will be collectors items, as I credited Murray Cammick for a photo David Burke took – sorry David!
And I’m sure there will be other tweaks.
If you miss out drop me a line and I’ll apprise you of the second run…
