  • Capture: Two Tales of a City, in reply to Joe Wylie,

    Kings of the rode...

A pity that Streetview didn’t catch the bike shop while it was open.

Next best thing is this small piece from The Press in 2009
    this flickr stream
and this interview from National Radio

They fixed many a broken spoke, or worse, for me over the years...

a remarkable photo exhibition at the COCA gallery ...

Part of Glenn Busch's excellent ongoing photographic social record The exhibition was made into a book also (the King Family grace the cover) available from Canterbury University Press

a Costa’s souvlaki, double chicken, with a chocolate thickshake. Having travelled half a galaxy, they are righteously peeved.

truly intragalactic OB skewer objects of desire...

    I Sir Veil...
I see that PM Key has apologised to Dotcom
    "I misspooked..." ?

  • Legal Beagle: Kim Dotcom: Questions and Answers, in reply to Hebe,

    I know nothing...

Key looks in off-guard moments like
he knows his luck has turned

Aye, his recent diet of 'mumble pie'
does not sit well with him...

I think this whole Gov't needs to be
advised of what their Legacy will be...
Brownlee is probably happy being reviled,
but does Parata really want to be remembered
as the 'Woman who threw away our kids' future'.
I always hope that Key is vain enough to spin the wheel at the last minute, to avoid being the Captain of the 'Ship of State that sank'...
But unfortunately, judging by his rabbit-in-the-headlights-mien of late, it all seems to be on track for the inevitable train wreck...

  • Speaker: Music: The Vinyl Frontier, in reply to Russell Brown,

    Mother Superior jump the gun...

...to see what old Flying Nun
platters are going for at RG.
    I wonder who’s buying them at $100+?

Me too, I am about to free up some old kiwi vinyl (and ephemera) for the universe to reabsorb, some folks say one gets better prices on eBay rather than on local TradeMe, (and who knows what the unfortunately named Wheedle will be like). Anyone had any experience with this or heard anything relevant?
Methinks, I don't feel comfortable enough on the net to deal internationally...

Offloading vinyl got us across the line...

Sweet Jesus!, No, not that original copy of Trout Mask Replica I gave ya on yer 21st(?) birthday, last century!!?

    </kidding...>
    (hope it helped)

    what the Dickens...

There aren’t that many places you could make that joke....

I was playing to the choir
    no bleak house music here...
    I have no great expectations
and this is not so much Gin Alley
as a Rumba Bar humbug, pip pip
    and all that, eh wot...

  • Legal Beagle: Kim Dotcom and the GCSB,

    Read no evil...
One thing that seems odd to me in the whole chain of this, is that English signed the order in Key's absence, but apparently Key only heard about this last week...
Why was there no update on this (major intelligence approval) for the Prime Minister on his return?
Was this yet another document Key refuses to read? In an attempt to keep up his stance that he had never heard of Dotcom prior to the day of the arrest...
