Mike Hosking might as well start any thing he says with, "John Key and National have asked me to say.....".

It's unethical the way he uses his position to effectively deliver crazy rosy National party broadcasts which seem to treat anyone suffering as whingers, as only Mike is allowed to whinge, it's disgusting and when he is fired from our state tv and we stop subsidising his family from its state coffers he will be remembered as an example of the indecency an individual can bring to the field of broadcasting. Shameful, absolutely shameful.

  • Cracker: Breaking the Silence,

News needs science desks, the advancement of science is happening at a rapid pace & we need to have rational discussions on the validity, causality and strength of the science presented. Science is the catalyst of better life styles.

Well done Damian. It is anxiety forming our ability to convince certain sectors of society that science is not a politics.Science is a sloggy constant ritual of testing, watching, watching, testing. Then having your data collection being subject to some hard maths. If that maths shows you significant movements in the subject being observed ,you must report it.

  • Hard News: Forgetting what we didn't know, in reply to Moz,

F>>K left and right on this one, this is a failure of governance issue. I’m sick of bad governance being so frequent that it's accepted as the norm. All power to the new breed of journalists coming up, the ones who are really fucking good at it.

National have delivered very poor governance because they don’t do the homework of governance and they don’t do the homework of governance because they are not very good at it.

One of the defences the government has been running is that the original foreign trusts legislation come in under Labour. But I tend to regard law as a conversation and a response to circumstances. Problems only become apparent over time, economic or other circumstances change, and the law no longer fits, or the way it works creates problems in a changed environment. So we need to adjust our law. This is all part of the ordinary process of doing democracy.

Yes, remember the Labour Govt, Helen style went through great pains to show it was business friendly . They did this in order to water down National spin criticism that Labour inherently impedes business.

Now it is very important that National do their job and keep their supposedly superior business eyes on best practise/dodgy money deals. Especially now it's 8 years down the track, you can't spin this onto an old Government that has long been out of office. Key is very naughty to do that and he knows that. It's all a bit tee hee to him, issue dodging,

  • Polity: House-buying patterns in Auckland,

The information released is statistically flawed so is useless for analysis.

Stats is a very principled discipline, break those principles and the data is flawed, welcome to maths 101, bought to you by 1000's of years of mathematical development.

It doesn't stop a maths illiterate like continuity announcer Hoskings commenting like a buffon on what it apparently shows. Dude needs to finish his year 12 and 13 again.

The data gathering on this issue is pathetic and blurry, probably intentionally.

Once again their is a huge problem and we are told to look away because National.

That a difference of opinion over a definition

Oh my god. Who are you trying to fool? That is a kiwiblog comment. Grow up.

Look at the issue, it's a clear problem. Grow up , stop trying to convince yourself of the innocence of the market. It needs overview and regulation. So fucking obvious . Yes, Matthew unfortunately bad folk are out there. I know its hard to believe they are not all on the dole and some wear nice ties but yes, it's a complicated world out there. And you do know how dirty money can get because you nearly fell out with the blue flag over a contract from memory.

C'mon, get your intellectual pants on and stop playing a game of spin and bluster.

It's called ethics and its very important, larger than the little westminister we have here. It just needs to be called on by both sides, banking is out of control, lawless. Laws are needed.

On John Keys popularity , its not gonna be a seismic shift , New Zealand doesn't move left with any great ease, it will be an acknowledgement that Ministers who can't do their job or refuse to do their job properly are bad for the long term growth of this country. It's a very poorly read party, just sits there blocking labour.

Really? After all this time you still think the PM has scandals waiting to be uncovered that will lead to his downfall?

He only holds parliament by one seat, a downfall for the national party is not to be in power and when they lose he's out.

I think this is big news. All trading countries need to be confident that other trading communities are not diminishing the annual fiscal base of another nation, doing this through effectively hiding the money from the citizenry.

Why can’t we have some grown up eyes on this ridiculous banking rort. Banking is an untouchable magic hand of freedom that can never be reformed because..banking.
