Hopefully the judge will dismiss the case, O'Connor will shut up and the cop/s who made the arrest will be told to calm down. Then the Police can get on with all the stuff they're supposed to be doing and Tiki can carry on entertaining us with whatever words he chooses...

Media7 has won “best digital only TV show on Freeview” and “best TV show on a channel on Freeview” in the 2011 Freeview Awards. Back Benches runner up in both categories.
Well deserved - congratulations to the teams behind both shows.
More ammo for the Save TVNZ7 campaign... -

By then TVNZ7 will more than likely be gone.
Not necessarily - if enough people want it to stay and grow...

Were you there for the infamous “domino” set collapse?
Nothing to do with me…honest.

I remember working out there as a casual stagehand 30 odd years ago - helping to put up the 'Close to Home' set in that state of the art studio.
RIP Avalon... -
I just wrote to the Minister of Broadcasting last week and in asking him to reconsider stopping the funding of TVNZ7 I suggested that there is seemingly no place on TVNZ for any kind of public service programming that reflects New Zealand's cultural values and might appeal to an intelligent audience who see television as a valuable educational resource as well as a source of entertainment.
According to his private secretary 'The Minister will consider the issues you have raised, and respond as soon as he is able.' I'm not holding my breath. I've been privileged to have been involved in making some great TV programmes over the years and gratefully saw the establishment of TVNZ7 as a necessary move as the two commercial channels went , well more commercial.
The whole TV ratings system needs to be exposed for what it is - I'd be really interested to know what the actual figures are especially with regard to time-shifted viewing and ad skipping. Do the peoplemeters even monitor Freeview?
We need to make this an election issue, flood the Ministers office with emails and of course like lots of stuff on http://www.facebook.com/pages/Save-TVNZ-7/193564444000077 and sign the petition... -
Hard News: Time to get a grip, in reply to
I am proud to say that Paul Henry has never said anything that was on my mind before he said it.
+1
I have rarely heard any of his utterances live on air - I don't watch that kind of TV if I can help it - but anything contentious or offensive gets reported and then reported some more to the point where you need to have your head in the sand not to hear it. It's all good publicity - until the advertisers start getting uneasy. -
On air Paul Henry plays the role of the bloke who "just says what everyone else is thinking" and those of us who don't like it can and do complain - I suppose MediaWorks think that any publicity is good publicity. I suspect they're not too bothered about any BSA-regulated complaints process - that's just more publicity. However he does seem to have a few fans so maybe they just want to cater to them.
-
And now he makes a triumphant return courtesy of Mediaworks to the delighted squealing of his fans...

So TVNZ 'didn't step up with a good enough offer' What's that about - I thought they'd just sacked him... -
NZ on Screen is an excellent resource that could probably do with a bit more promotion (I was talking to a well known TV producer the other day who didn't even know it existed...)
Thanks for that taste of LCD Soundsystem et al - I reckon they were one of the highlights at this years BDO.
