Or is the golden rule here that nobody shits where they eat, because a media culture that ...

Funny that, I had related but contrary thoughts of the media-political scene centred on WhaleOil when I pulled this top-stow piece of firewood out from the back of my woodshed just two days ago.
Said shed is beside/under an overly productive feijoa tree very attractive to rats in autumn. I may be being unkind to the rats here, but the feijoa leftovers and ratshit seem very closely associated.

John Key At The End of the Day
I'm looking forward to beyond the end ...
    'The Remains of the Day'

(Perhaps prematurely, but) I’m looking forward beyond all that
to the new dawn to follow !:-)

This one never loses its favour
    on the gate post overnight.
3½ weeks ago, last of the old moon passing Venus

3 weeks ago, Venus and its reflection (just) left of centre

This morning, such a positively roseate dawn

  • Hard News: Dirty Politics,

This enhanced vox pops from the streets of Papakura, Christchurch and Wellington on Campbell Live last night might provide some encouragement. Setting aside the closed minds certain of their knowledge from that nice Mr Key and his enablers, there look to be good numbers interested in engaging with the subject when given a chance, and likely to shift their vote, quite sufficient to make a decisive difference.

I’m hopeful Nicky Hager will release the evidential material, no more than one chapter’s worth at a time, over the next few weeks.

The colours gathered together under the dawn redwood again –
colours of sound and fury? Or utter calm,

    reframed.

    On the riverbank –
what can I say, but something was triggered, like the sky exploded!
Managed to catch a few fragments.

Then another theme, of trees supporting the clouds, comes forth.
Here the walnut and many knotted strings of the dawn redwood seeming to hold the clouds
    suspended,
if you’re willing to suspend your disbelief –
    first in plain colours

    later, a little fancy

    and more so.
But I’m getting ahead of myself – meanwhile …

There’s no escape from the weatherscape
Late afternoon Sunday of last week, 3 August 14, and I’ve been daily reading of the corresponding day 100 years ago as World War I is being triggered, when I notice the light outside –
the little views in the windows through the walnut tree are each illuminated in their own way.

Subtle colours shining off the weeping willow diagonally upstream

Not so subtle over the pine ridge downstream

At the end of the day,
signs of trouble brewing over the hills.

I'll just relax and appreciate the spectacle,

waiting for the detail to come ...
