What a disgusting man. They ought to rename themselves "The Harsher Sentences for Poor People Trust".
How about the BOPE Fan Club?

I had quite an argument with a couple of friends at the height of the last summer murder wave about how murder is a very low risk here.
What would they have thought of the Bruce Emery verdict? It seems to have become some kind of litmus test on law and order politics.

Kyle M:
But Starship Troopers made rooting for the fascists so much fun! Love the adverts that they threw into the movie.
Reminds me of these easter eggs in Verhoeven's earlier effort Robocop:
"Pakistan is threatening my border!"
"An American Tradition. 8.2 MPG." -
All Miranda Devine "opinion pieces" should come with the warning:
Written Without the Aid of a Functioning Intellect
Just as I suspected. She's best thought of as the Ann Coulter of the Antipodes.

If I recall correctly, BNZ's chief economist Tony Alexander, hardly a raging socialist, was on record about 5 years ago telling companies whingeing about a certain minimum wage increase to "get a life" because it only applied to about 7% of the total workforce.

Might as well be. I'm in.
I second that.

You'd swear the teasers were real:

What kind of message is Key sending out here that we should just turn a blind eye and don't worry about it when we are the victims of violence? Albeit at the bottom end of the scale. Don't slip into the default NZ bloke macho position without realising it.
Social Darwinism, methinks?
