Thank you Ben and Kracklite for a fascinating discussion (and intersting Wikipedia references). I am really enjoying it.

What I find odd, is this fixation on spray cans. Most of the tagging that I see about the place seems to have been done with a wide permanent marker.

What I find strange is that whenever interest rates go up the media always portrays this as a bad thing. Yet there are more people living in their own mortgage-free homes than there are with mortgages.
Is it another case of the media people perversely believing that they themselves are typical ?

What's with this free riding business? We get to come here and play around on the best blog site in NZ, and you're too damned stingy to watch the ads in return for all the entertainment?
It's not the stinginess - its the ads themselves. I have a real problem with ads that move. If I am reading, and something on the screen moves, it draws my attention, hence my reading experience suffers. Several times I have turned off adblocking on PA, but usually its only a matter of days before I turn it back on because I find that the obtrusiveness of moving ads detracts too much from my PA experience.

The electrolyser cannot be 100% efficient, so the energy recovered from the burning of its output will be less than the energy consumed to produce that output.

...the Bloggers' Triple Pack for only $60. That's like getting one whole book for free!
But more like getting one whole book for $15.05 ...

PS: ... oh, and I am affected by slight asthma, and have a couple of allergies.

I remember hearing that on the first day of spraying there were quite a number of complaints from people affected by the spray - but it was actually too windy to spray, so the plane had just flown the pattern as a practise run.
I can't actually find any reference to this now - does anybody else remember this, or can dig out a link ? I'd be interested to know how many complaints they received on this day of no spray, compared with that of the days when they did actually spray.
Personally, I got "dusted" while cycling, and, apart from an unpleasant taste in the mouth, had no ill effects at all.
Cheers,
Brent. -

Objection, your honour. Leading the witness !
How come "underwhelming" didn't make the list - I thought it was the best on offer !

We found an alternative to controlled crying which was effective (after a lot longer), and not so heart wrenching, for babies that start hollering as soon as you leave them.
After putting them down sit with them with your hand on their chest until they go to sleep. The next night just hold their hand, the next night just, sit next to them, and then start moving the chair further away. After a fortnight, the chair is outside the room, and your leaving doesn't seem to bother them. (I guess you're teaching them that object permanance applies to parents).
Cheers,
Brent.
