Muse: The High Aesthetic Line, in reply to
I'm not mad keen on Star Wars as it's always struck me as a bit of a Big Dumb Action Movie in space but the kids were completely enthralled.
I'll admit to being kind of a Star Wars fan, but only because Star Wars was the first movie I can remember seeing. And we 'played' it as kids. I was ALWAYS Leia.

This makes me very happy indeed. Russell accused me on Twitter of being a fangirl. To which my response is yes, yes I am.

Really? Where do you perform – or is this an inappropriate question?
I don't know, but I am fairly certain we could find an audience for that show.

Up Front: Giving Me Grief, in reply to
It is one of the most humbling and rewarding, albeit grief-stricken, experiences in my life.
I did a reading at every one of my grandparents' funerals, and I will always be thankful for that. If nothing else, it gave me a reason to not cry for the whole time.

Like we always did, I’d get stuck two clues from the end, but you weren’t there to ask.
She is. You just can't hear her.
I have written before about my grandmothers, and the role they played in my life, and not a day goes by when I don't think about one or other of them. The tattoo I got yesterday was, to a large degree, inspired by them.
And every time I have been in a difficult position, anytime I've had to make a hard decision, it's their voices I hear*. Believe it's them, or not, or just my brain telling me what they'd say, but it's helpful. This year, while I've been depressed, I haven't heard them, and I've missed them.
She's there, not because she's physically in the room with you, but because you knew her and loved her, and remember her. She'll come back when you are ready.
* And yes, I did just say I hear voices in my head. Is anyone really surprised?

Well, you made us all cry. Seems fair.
(For the record, there's no way i am clicking on that link of Russell's.) -

We don’t do voir dire in the manner of courts in the US, and I don’t think that’s at all a bad thing.
You are expected to report if there's a reason you shouldn't be on the jury though - if you know a witness or some such. I once sat in on a trial in which jury selection took ages, because everyone knew everyone.
On the other hand, I've always wanted the ability to make people go away, just by saying "challenge".

Well this year ain't been great. Our Mum died on the 25th December after being very sick for long time, it has been a harrowing 18 months.
I learned last year, that it doesn't matter how long someone has been sick for, it still seems sudden. I offer my condolences as well.

Glad I’m not the only one who finds that show absurdly over-rated.
Dude! You are going to get me in trouble! That's not what I meant at all. Witness the knitted Daleks! I love Dr Who.

So you haven’t quite been assimilated yet. Ah well, it won’t happen overnight, but it will happen ;-)
Nah, I only ever watch when invited to by someone else, mostly. And I spend much of my time biting my tongue to refrain from mocking.
