A whole lot of farms are going to be appraised as insolvent.
This is (quietly) happening already. Our over reliance on dairy has caused many farmers to go so far into debt they will never get out unless the milk price magically rebounds to peak levels and stays there. Not going to happen.

Well, I kinda share your frustration there Mark, but not in a way you’re going to like. If a certain segment of “the left” don’t like being called racist anymore than certain segments of “the right,” that’s all on them. Stop making it so damn easy. It really is that simple.
As I've said before, when Craig and I agree on something, it's pretty likely to be the truth. This is one of those times.

where did you think some of our new commenters came from?
Eek. Those almost make kiwibog look like a voice of reason.

I’m fairly sure that’s not our spellchecker. I think it’ll be your American-made web browser.
Well, bother. You may be right. I’m using Firefox and I’ve told it to use NZ English first, then English, then US English if it really has to. Still getting the correction, though.
[edit] Aha! Not only do you have to set your language/locale preferences, you have to separately add the dictionary.

I dislike bullshit opportunism by any party. I'm not and never have been a member of any political party, though I was a union rep in an earlier life. You may be right about the predisposition but that doesn't mean we should give Labour a pass for pandering to it. I'll settle for a morally higher ground than National, which doesn't take much doing and so is all the more miserable when they fail.

Dear Russell, when the hell are we going to get an NZ English spell checker on PAS??? I’m tired of the squiggly red lines every time I time I type “Labour”
[edit] UK English would be fine #justsaying

I’m embarrassed to be a Pakeha right now. But relieved I haven’t voted for this lot (nor any party that would have Brash, either).
Damn straight, and I've let Twyford know that I'm personally disappointed in him as a person as well as Labour as a party.

@Tze Ming Mok I haz a curious.
If I posit that Chinese buyers will cluster round particular real estate agencies based on previous personal experience, referral by a friend or a willingness to deal in Mandarin (or Cantonese), would I be accurate? And that some agencies will have lots of Chinese customers and others will have fewer?
Because it seems to me this was a leak of a subset of one agency's customer list. For Labour to claim this has relevance against the total Chinese resident population of Auckland, wouldn't they need a much wider data set?

That was a bloody long flounce. Could have done with some judicious editing, I reckon.
As long as it's permanent. He's already on my "nothing to see, scroll along" list.

I think your wrong on that. I think the Government will be forced to collect data.
We'll have to see. I doubt it, though.
