  • Speaker: Why we need to stop talking…,

Inequality is too neutral a word. We need to call it what it is: unfairness.

Well in the current circumstances, its the better off stacking the rules in their favour and fuck anyone else.
And to their minds If somehow someone's life isnt roses, well its their fault. Personal responsibility and all that, their dinner party argument.
But this govt is worse even than that. They put me in mind of the time the pope sold papal dispensations to heaven. They'll do anything to make a buck.

Compassion is a great kiwi value, and it’s a strong trait across the political spectrum.

Yeah and being a self-centred, self aggrandizing arsehole is a common human trait, not just K1W1's But we dont have the stomach to look ourselves squarely in the eye. We'd rather fluff ourselves.
And in politics talks cheap. So kind words mean nothing.
But good luck changing the way politicians routinely lie.(sorry use words that put a positive spin on their BS policies). Cause they dont care.

  • Polity: Buying a fight with democracy,

    “proper scrutiny”

The only thing that needs any scrutiny, proper or otherwise, is the moral compass of those who think they are at the top of this screwed up pyramid we call "society".

  • Polity: A week on from the housing controversy,

New Zealanders need to be made aware of a a broader dream called ‘Financial Security’ that isn’t necessarily shackled to a dream called ‘Home Ownership’

Ownership is a human thing much to our detriment. Financial security? whats that?
Some people are just never satisfied and their insecurities will drive them.Anyway my home is on wheels. So I'll bow out now.

Labour cares about this because the Kiwi dream of home ownership

    Sloganeering.
Its not and never should be in the "dream" category of human activity. It is a necessity. Im pretty sure (I'm not a qualified naturalist) all land based mammals, yes we are just animals, need warmth and shelter. In the parlance of today, a home. This necessity has taken on grotesque forms.

I’m not saying them to be comfortable

Missed my point completely. I was hoping you might know of a way out of this financial BS we have been lumbered with.
    And then you say this

I’ve gained degrees in the mathematics required to understand it over the last few years. And the one thing that stands out to me more and more, the more I look into it, is just how simple it isn’t.

So we have created a system so fiendish only a vanishingly small percentage of the population can figure it out? jeez its not a "Law of Nature" , we came up with "money", yet the system now works against many people and for only a few. That is just wrong. And has to change
